I remember calculating once that with an average FTL drive, it would take around 3-5 years to get from one end of the three galaxies to another.

Quester wrote:IIRC when travelling BETWEEN galaxies isn't the drives speed increased by a factor of 10? Something to do with there being less "stuff" in-between galaxies compared to in-between stars. That may have something to do with the time.

I'd have to look it up, but I believe it was something like 200x. I remember that it is faster to travel between galaxies than through them. On the distance note, the galaxies aren't laid out end to end. They are tilted slightly and catecorner to each other, forming a triangle. All three kind of face each other. Kind of like this.

I remember them being laid out like that too. But aren't they more like the flat sides toward each other? That might even make them closer than shown.

Esckey, it looks pretty cool. Just one question. What are the lines between the galaxy?

20,000 lyrs across, and 1000 lyrs thick. (Anvil Galaxy)

OR

20,000 lyrs long and less that 1000 wide. (Phase World)

Mr Coffin wrote that it is "bull's eye shaped", but we've already had that discussion (I maintain it is a spherical cluster). Informational Link

If that doesn't prompt you to buy it, I don't know what else I can say.
