Exploration vessel
Stealth cruiser
Early-model/spacefaring tech vessels(few windows, cramped quarters, limited life support)
Subspace Exploration craft(dipping into 'otherspace')
If you're familar with the 'Starship Lief Ericson', I always thought that would make a GREAT amphibious vessel...

Say a heavily reinforced hull could carry out that sort of mission. Say a modified Scimitar or Hunter that were built for Special Operations could be reinforced hulls that could allow them to submerge themselves in the worlds oceans whilke their teams were busy on a mission.

Sol Bianca?

Probably the Wulfen Hunter-class, since it is small and only has a crew of 24. Furthurmore, as a "cloaked" ship, it would be best suited for Das Boot missions...

Ah, you agree with me Braden! Cool! And I've heard of Sol Bianca and have all of it in my collection! My favorite character from that series was "April!"

I'm not so sure about that "all" well be considered in that way.

When they showed the Sol Bianca de-cliaking it looked like hse was surfacing in space...looked sweet.

Are you looking for an example of an existing starship from PW that fills the role of the submarine in today's navy?
Is that the question?

Any hunter-killer ship from corvette to destroyer size would work. just give it a cloaking device

I loved the show! The Whitestar was my personal favorite ship. But I really like Excalibur too!

I know. It is a background that someday needs to be explained to us.

But it could be explored in a novel or a mini series. It was made to be able to tell a story with a 2 million years period with Babylon 5 being in the middle of those years.

Oh yeah, that is one of those things about Babylon 5. JMS could put a story anywhere in that time frame.

The Dresden Files are starting in January. It's about a Detective/ Wizard who has to deal with supernatural crimes. That is a new series coming to SciFi in January. (It's based on a series of novels by Jim Butcher. He's been around for a while now.) It look promising.

I haven't read any of them yet. I do intend to read them in the future. But in the mean time I plan on watching the show.
