The pay's crappy, the hours brief, but hey, it could be fun!
Finally having all pieces of my costume contest costume together in one place, I was able to put it all on and see how it looked tonight. I'm delighted with the result! I ran in to one minor problem though - it's hard as heck to put on some of this stuff all by oneself! Roman plate armor is cool, but putting it on while pre-laced in back is very hard, and lacing it up in back after donning it is impossible. Similar issue with certain other pieces - straps, laces, and girths of the costume are a bit rough to fasten securely while wearing. It's doable, but a pain in the neck.
Result: If you're going to be free for the Saturday evening costume contest, and aren't busy prepping your own outfit, I could use your help! I need an armorer/squire to assist, just for a few minutes, in making sure I'm fully put together. The job mostly would consist of helping me in to my cuirass (22 pounds) and thereafter assisting with tieing off ties on my armor, cloak, bracers, and other goodies. Naturally, I'll try to find some way to repay you for your assistance, through food, a sourcebook, or something else nifty, and of course you get mad shield-bearer creds.
