I gave a similar list over on the WitchCraft forum at the Eden Studios board.

Here's some of my suggestions.

Pat Benatar-- "Shadows of the Night" (For those heroic moments.)
Joe Satriani-- "Lifestyle"
Joe Satriani-- "Searching"
Doctor Who OST (No, I'm not kidding)-- "I'm Coming To Get You"
Doctor Who OST-- "UNIT" (Useful for any dramatic combat.)
Doctor Who OST-- "Tooth and Claw" (Any battles involving Nightbane.)
Doctor Who OST-- "Doomsday" (Hounds on the march.)
Sting-- "A Thousand Years"
Sting-- "Shape of My Heart"
The Police-- "Visions of the Night"
John Williams-- "Parade of the Slave Children"
John Williams-- "Seven Years in Tibet" (For those visits to Astral Domains)
Dire Straits-- "Private Investigations" (For those taking the film noir angle.)
Dire Straits-- "On Every Street"
Mark Knopfler-- "What It Is" (Celebratory but with a creepy undercurrent.)
Mark Knopfler-- "Wanderlust"
Mark Knopfler-- "Sands of Nevada"

For those with playlists, how large are your groups? Back when I was running 10-12 person games I couldn't imagine having music playing in the background, even with my once regular group of 9 people there's a TV on in the other room for folks to unwind/catch up on football when their character isn't doing anything but otherwise that's it.

That is a new one on me, too, but I suppose mood can be key at times. I just cannot see playing music the whole session.

Umm... no. Upbeat is one thing, but USoUD? I hate that song as is, I'd probably walk out of a gaming session if my GM put it on.

Anyway, DevilDriver's "Hold Back the Day" and Disturbed's "Land of Confusion" are a couple that make my playlist.

I like to use Death Metal.

Carcass, Cannibal Corpse, etc....

King Diamond works really well also. Especially anything off of "Them".
