Okay, so the campaign goes between Rifts, Nightbane, and BTSN2 (including Century Station, Wormwood, etc).

The character is a nightbane sorceror, who prior to his transformation on that dark day, he was ex-military gone alphabet soup agency. The character was allowed to pick up HtH Commando, which grants Auto-Dodge. However, being a nightbane in Morphus form, the "instinctual" combat style takes over, which is Martial Arts (inferrior to commando).

So we know that while in morphus, the character cannot use the facade's HtH, so no Auto-Dodge, even though the morphus form is still a humanoid form (near human appearance).

However, the nightbane gets the ability (chance) to transform from facade to morphus (and back) with a die roll. As the nightbane progresses in level, they gain bonuses to transform. The books specifically state that with a sucessful roll, the nightbane can transform without using an action.

So, if a nightbane runs around in facade, gets into trouble and goes into morphus. However, he wants to use his autododge. Provided he makes his roll for every transformation, could the nightbane transform from morphus to facade throughout each combat round to try and maintain his autododge?

Since the rules say that you can transform, provided you make your roll, even during combat. Will it work, or will the rule that states you must use only one combat form each round supercede the nightbane's tranformation ability. Meaning at the beginning of combat, when the nightbane is in facade and wants to transform to morphus, and even after making his roll, he must still use the facade HtH for that round?

well if you're going by the book, (not familiar with hth commando, unless you mean the ones in N&SS, which don't have auto dodge) it says on page 119 of my nightspawn book, under the skill selection section with regards to purchasing hth skills that, "this hth affects the facade form only; the morphus has (heres the part that leaves it open for modification) NATURAL COMBAT POWERS ROUGHLY EQUIVALANT to the martial arts skill.

I was actually talking about the HtH Commando from Beyond the Supernatural 2, it grants an auto dodge, and bonuses to auto dodge as it goes up in level. (It also grants bonuses to Horror Factor too.)

No matter what hand to hand combat the facade of a nightbane has, Nightbane only use their instinctual Martal Art equivalent combat in their morphus. This has been discused out add infinitum about when the NB has a MA Form(s) (see "Ninja and SuperSpys" and "Mystic China") in their facade, so wondering about whether or not h2h commando, which is worse then many MA Forms is like trying to courts marshal Custer for incompitence after the what happened at little big horn.

Besides the NB discription says that the abilities ofthe fadace and morphus are to be kept tract of seporately.

Part of the reason that makes NB NB is that every NB is Different.

And sence we are talking about NB and BTS2, don't bring rifts into the conversation please, its like bringing in you in-laws when discussing things at work.

The idea behind nightbane having supernatural combat ability "roughly equivilant to HtH: martial arts" is to provide the average joe Nightbane with the skills to possibly survive. It is not meant to hamper someone with already superior combat skill. Unless otherwise stated in their morphus description, Nightbane retain all their skills in morphus form, and full intelligence. There is no reason a Nightbane with a better HtH can't use it instead of the generic martial arts skill.
