Phase tech and Tech Wizardry

I wasn't sure whether this should be posted here or in Magic forum, but this is where the Braden Shark is known to swim so this is where I'll cast my line. :D

Is it possible to use phase weapons as a basis for tw creations? Specifically I was thinking of making some end of long quest prize weapon. Taking a phase sword and adding some Blade magic from rifter 23. Of course, the Phase tech write up only barely suggests that it might be related to techno-wizardry.

It looks like, that prometheans and only prometheans
can create phase tech. Even repairing it means only
changing the faulty block.

Now, there is the UWW and the Sploogies, they are
the peak of technowizardry. It looks like even they
could not knock of (and therefore, modify) phase tech.

Not too mention that if someone was able to do it,
it would rock the 3 Galaxies. Except the Prometheans,
that is...

However... Mixing TW and Temporal magic (which
does have similar effect to phase tech) seems
quite possible - rare and exotic, but entirely possible.

Adios

Yeah, I agree with Ninjabunny. Phase tech is, and should always be, the sole domain of the Prometheans.

In my Phase World games, since it really is a crazy, high-tech space opera setting, I tend to think of magic this way: it is just a really advanced method for tapping into the quantum foam that underlies the entire universe, shaping reality by sheer will power.

So Phase World techno wizardy does not look like the TW creations of Rifts Earth. They are just a different and radically advanced form of technology that draws on the cosmological constant as a power source.

Having said all that, Temporal magic can easily be incorporated into some kind of magic weapon or device... making for a cool thingamabob for players to get a handle on without stealing the Promethean's thunder.

In the final actual decision will always fall to each individual GM.

I have a question. Could a gizmoteer convert a phase weapon to run off psionic energy? It's not messing around with how the phase tech works, just changing how it's powered.

Well ya of course, I just wanted to see if I got any "That's just too wacky to consider" responses or any "hmmm, somthing to ponder" responses. Or maybe even a "Ya thats a great idea" hehe. :D

Over all, this has the feeling of "no this won't work for a PC and probobly shouldn't be introduced". Oh well, I'll re-think it a little more.

I know it's given, but sometimes I think people have to be reminded anyway.
