Blast Shield
It does not state how much MDC it has, only that it will protect you from explosive type blast.
that's because it dosn't have MDC. it is tottally impervious to all explosive blasts.
Starburst
is there in save for blindness against the spell since it does not say anything about it only a -2 for Dodge. After reading the spell I would treat is as Blinding Flash
Except that blinding flash dosn't allow a dodge.
With blinding flash, you can't avoid getting hit, but you can save.
With starburst, you can avoid getting hit, but automatically works if you do get hit.
