I am planning a Mercenary Company , and one of the founding memebers just happens to be a TW, And while I do not want to make the Company a magic based company, magic can be used to be an equalizer and a quick go to tool.
Here are a few TW devices I've had rolling around the hollow between my ears.
TW EMP Explosive
Roughly identical to a Fusion block, this is a TW device that can be placed and set to go off or thrown like a Fusion Block. They are one use TW devices and configured so that any user magical, psychic or not can use it.
Effect is Identical to the EMP function of the Electromagnetic Attack spell (Mercenary Adventures pg. 17)
Weight: 12 lbs
Blast Radius: 15 feet (30 on a ley line)
Device level: one P.P.E. Construction Cost:150
Spell Chain Needed: Electromagnetic attack (30) Physical Requirements: 1 Carat ruby Quartz (300 credits), 5 MDC box, with a built in analog timer and pin trigger. Duration of charge: Instant, can be set to go off up to 120 minutes after being set. Construction time: 15 hours Cost to create: 1800 credits including Gems.
Note: also Available as a laser guided Artillery shell for 3000 credits of materials and as a medium range missile for 12,000 credits.
TW Wood Kiln
Not known To many outside of the Lumber industry, Wood used for building is baked in a kiln to remove moisture and season the wood faster, making it sturdier and more resistant to rot than non seasoned wood, The TW wood Kiln, draws power off of ley lines to season lumber too, into mega damage Lumber! Every 15 minutes, this Kiln turns 25 sdc worth of wood into 25 mdc of wood.
Weight: the Kiln is a Building, but it can be conceivably packed up and moved, 2 tons.
Device level: fifth P.P.E. Construction Cost: 760
Spell Chain needed: Ironwood (50), Ley line tendril bolts (26)
Time to create: 15.6 hours
Physical requirements: 15 Carat Amber (9000 credits) 5 carat black Tourmaline, several industrial heating elements, a brick and sheet metal building, all worth roughly 47,600 credits

TW Thunderbuster
Ok, basically this is a six shot Under slung shotgun that has been TW modified to work like a TW thundergun (back of new west), it can fire normal Ammunition and TW enhanced silver slugs.
I plan on alot of Under barrel weapons for the standard Energy weapon my merc group but a straight and to the point Supernatural killer seems prudent for every psychic in the merc group.

They are all very nice TW equipment. I've already asked my question about the TW stuff over on the Rifts area of the forum.

Gravitus Everlast wrote:Personal favorite, TW Bullets. Don't worry about making the GUN a TK weapon. Make the Bullets and the Clip the TW device so that you can just slap that sucker into any firearm and away you go. They are also easier to use and conceal. Plus you can put multiple spell types into each clip. And yes you can make the bullets TW devices because it has multiple components. Its just like enchanting a weapon only this one is single use.
each one requires a separate gem, not exactly practical.

Might be more practical in grenade or mini-missile size, then. Their larger size leaves more room for the crystals, & you get more bang for your buck.
one thing I am thinking about is a "slug" round for our gernade launcher that has a Wards spell on it (specificly the the
banishment ward) that is not made to penetrate, just to hit the ward on the monster.

why don't you use Expel Demons/Deevils, the 8th level spell. It's 10' radius per level maybe a "paintball round" that also splashes out holy water for the radius cast. It'll be good for a few hours or so.
because tw rounds require gems, sometimes that is not a problem other times that is an insurmountable cost. And the wards spell is easy once you have it.

If you don't want the old-TV & commericials, have it send those obnoxious "testing the Emergency Broadcast System" or something equally mind-numbing for a the duration.
OR a tape of the 'The Prozaks' a parady propiganda show about the Proseks' house hold. De-Bees from the part will reconize it as a parody of "The Simpsons".nameneeded wrote:TW Lightning Rod...... best defensive device ever... IMO
Define please.
Does it just block electrical attacks or is it like a $h!† Magnet where all most hostile is drawn to it?Gravitus Everlast wrote:Personal favorite, TW Bullets. Wouldn't work like that. Each firearm has it own type of magazine and caliber. Read up on your firearms more, outside of gaming publications please.
Being single use items, they might need smaller gems to be a part of the TW ciurcetry. But each would take the same amount of time to construct.
All magic items using gems need Natural Gems. Any and all Artificial gems can not be enchanted.

TW "Death Ray"
Pistol like device (think Flash Gordan) combining Teleport: Lesser (or Superior if you have the gems) and Energy Bolt. You see where Im going, pull the trigger and your target, whoop!, vanishes!

I assume you mean the TW
GUIDELINES on page 130 of RUE? Course I have, bigger the gems, lower the PPE cost. The only thing I house rule from TW creation Rules is Construction cost. Material cost based on PPE use is foolish to me.
I wrote that response on the fly and I'm typing out a more in depth version here and there.
What's yer ratty beef with a teleporter pistol?

it just seemed silly and unworkable at first blush.

I WAS kinda being silly about the Ray Gun style body, feel free to discard it and use whatever shape you like. It felt right, to me, with the whole "death ray/disintigrator pistol" motif
Getting back to my write up for it, I'll post here for review.

Can Goblin Grenades be a TW item? I don't have my book right here. That would be a good addition to the Merc's.

How about standard electronic equipment that run off P.P.E. Like conventional night vision goggle, with a P.P.E. power-source/battery. Pump in P.P.E. and you get X amount of operation time. Would be cheaper than full TW goggles, and quicker to produce. Plus, member wouldn't have carry extra batteries, or many soldier would have the means of recharging in the field. Could do the same with field radios, and virtually any electronic device.
