R Ditto worked on modified semis and a trucker OCC over at Nexus Nine! It was an awesome OCC! You should check it out!

And with the right block & tackle rig, you could easily pull the motorcycle into the trees as well. Might negate a quick escape, but would be safer in tree with you.

What, they don't list the nifty Landmaster from Damnation Alley?
It's like an armored RV with guns and missiles...
The Stripes armored RV with guns and missiles makes it, but not the Landmaster?!? :(

I am going to have to look it up. Just to see how it stacks up to reality.

Thanks,
WM

Yeah, it's still a little bit of work in progress with the working title "Wasteland Truckers", which was inspired by a mixture of Mad Max and trucking games. :D

Some of it is still a little rough around the edges.
Got a bit sidetracked, but was reworking some of the truck ideas.
Been trying to improve stats, details, whatnot.
While doing a little research, got links saved for sites for Kenworth, Peterbilt, Mack, Sterling, Western Star, Freightliner, Volvo, and also for Iowa 80.

Might be nice to get feedback from a real trucker, see if I got some of the lingo and whatnot down right and if I got the right feel or not.
(like if I might have got the right feel for how something like a major truck stop or even Iowa 80 might be in a 'world has gone down the drain' Mad Max type setting... if I even got that edited in yet beyond a genric 'trucker town')

(warning, if you do go there, be warned that I use up 5 entire posts for that that stuff...)

personally, while the vehicles on that list would make for interesting post-apoc vehicles, they are hardly the "best"

the best would be a vehicle able to take tons of punishment, fairly common, easy to maintain and repair, and easily converted into a roaming home or into a fighting vehicle.

like the Toyota Hilux.
it's common, easy to keep running, tough as a brick, and it's easily converted into a combat vehicle. (so easily infact, it got a war named after itself.)

and as Topgear showed, it's pretty much already an MDC construct..

Check these APVs out. There designed for heavy duty paint ball fire power, but the designs are silly to really cool. Some are real vehicles. Replace the paint ball gund with your favorite MG and away you go. Oh, might have to add a bit of armor. :D

Amphibious operations...must have amphibious operations...bridges may not always be safe(or available), and waterways make for good quick getaways(unless the catastrophe you're escaping from is something like that depicted in 'Surface')...A DUKW sounds nice, except for the lousy gas mileage and bad crosscountry performance, but it would be my first pick... :D

which can be done with the Toyota, with just a couple of mods. welded doors, some foam to seal it up, floatation aids around the engine and under the undercarrage, and an outboard motor.
toyboata (a 3 parter, this is part 1) note that 200hp is absurdly powerful, and a smaller motor is probably a good idea.

with a few outrigger stability aids, you can get some open water capability. toyboata channel crossing

the scary thing is you can build something similar to this if your willing to hybridize the N&SS vehicle mods and the ATB roadhogs vehicle mods.

The Iowa 80 truck stop is immense! It's about 8 miles from my Mom's home. I drive by it on my way to friends and conventions in Iowa. It is truly the worlds largest truck stop!

Some of these vehicles would be great for a Dead Reign campaign. :)

Break out your blowtorches and start kitbash-modding your vehicles, then! :D

Whatever does the trick...Bringing stuff over from other books to make a better vehicle counts as INGENUITY...(or should that be ENGINE-uity?---[Starts looking for fire-proof armor plating]) :D

Heathen! It survived against Giant Scorpions, killer cockroaches, and a flood on top of Jan-Michael Vincent's driving. What more could you want?

Doesn't the Wienermobile have a bun or yellow platform thing?

It's an armored ATV RV with with segmented middle for extra turning capacity and it has guns and rockets!

The Stripes RV can't bend in the middle, and it looks... to colorful and shiny for wasteland use, bandits would spot you more easily from miles away!

Heck, the Stripes RV doesn't look like it could be turned into an RV boat thing that might work better than the Toyboata's competition did!
