this might have been done before but here goes,what happened to the states of washington & oregon in caos earth?

Well in Washington at least, the Native Americans move into the area and set up their Waterpoint Preserve at some point in time. That suggests to me there was nothing noteworthy there in terms of population after the cataclysm.

Nothing has ever been done about Oregon in canon, but I know of at least one Rifter article that has been submitted on it.

Dustin pretty much nailed it. The Great Cataclysm pretty much wiped the west coast out, between earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, chaos demons, and tsunamis.
