Actually, southern Alaska is known for excellent gardening and agriculture in its spring / summer. There is a lot of fertile land and there is tremendous amount that can be done with hydroponics.

This gives me an idea. Let's say that Saskatoon (or wherever) has become a fortress city and its deep enough in Canuckianland to hold its own. They don't just let anybody in anymore and for all intents and purposes, its a city state unto itself. The price of entry is useable goods. Say you gotta bring in 100 x your body weight, so I would have to bring 2000 lbs of guns, clothes, oil or food to be permitted within their safe haven. So the PCs need to gather a caravan, fill it up in some town full of Zeds and then haul booty. Maybe the PCs are so altruistic that this is what they do - find survivors and haul them and their "entrance fee" to safe havens.

I like the ex-military units remaining to defend and rescue. Reminds me of the SWAT opening to the original Dawn of the Dead and the military aspect of Day of the Dead. But I would want to play the rescuers, not have NPCs save the PCs.

BTW, Josh is the book finished? If not, take a look at Mark Hall's fair review on RPG.net of Robotech and look at reviews of other Palladium books. If there is any way for you to address reoccurring issues and somehow make the game more enticing for non-Palladium gamers, I think you could have a hit on your hands.

I would love to see Dead Reign be the product to draw in new fans and not just sell to the small, but loyal crowd.
