TW Sky boats

Unread post by glitterboy2098 »

a few questions about these technowizard craft. (pg 136 of RUE, or pg 95 of RMB)

they are limited to operations on ley lines. would it be possible to include a PPE battery of some sort to allow them to operate off a leyline for a time, like the TW warbirds in RIFTER #5 can?

they are listed as sail powered. is there anything preventing the mounting of a TW refit motor and propellor set up for propulsion?

they have a max altitude limit of 200 feet. is this due to spell, leyline, or design, and could this flight ceiling be increased?

1 (no comment)
2 nothing, though he'd probably want a TW Jet or TW prop motor for a air vessel
3 everything is able to change, due to tinkering by the TW, house rules , or most likely GM Fiat. But to start out with the tW should only have the basic model to start out with.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.

for #3, i was basically wondering how tall a ley line is. pg 130-131 in the old RMB has in the caption 300ft, but that ley line looks to be no more than 20 some feet wide, while RUE has leylines at a half mile to a mile wide.

i just plan to expand on the skyboat concept with by adding things like a PPE battery for off-ley line operation, and TW engines for forward propulsion, and i wanted to be sure there wasn't anything to stop me.

with a bit more reading, the TW flyer can reach 5000 feet and has to stay on a LL, so i'm going to guess most LL's aren't much more than 5000ft high...

ultimately i decided to go a different route with my idea, instead of the skyboat one (i'm probably going ot move it to a different group).
