Your characters would need to find an alchemist (good luck), or one of the creation magic users in Russia, England, or the Magic Zone (or a friendly Ancient dragon).

Anything from the PF books not specifically mentioned in a R:UE book should be considered to be uber rare.

I suggest looking up the Blade Mage OCC from the Rifter. They have the ability to create magical weapons with some attributes. They exist in Palladium theoretically. Generally only let them be NPC's though, I was playing one once and she could do more damage than half of the rest of the party combined.

I would not doubt that that is where Alchemists get many of their items, by trading with other worlds.

We're currently playing a mid-level, higher-end power game.

Outside of "big" magic-friendly cities, or places like Center & UWW worlds... hard to find magical items. As for prices, if it's not listed in the BoM, then yea, you do have to extrapolate - our GM looks at how much the spell(s) involved would run per the RMB/RUE, and works from there.

Rune weapons are nearly the same price between PF and Rifts, so a 1 gp = 1 cr conversion for lesser magical items isn't out of the question, perhaps with an adjustment of 10-20% to reflect the power and usefulness of the particular item.

1 lb of gold in Palladium = 2500 gp
1 lb of gold in Rifts = 16,000 credits
Conversion rate of 1 Palladium gp = 6.4 Rifts credit

Adjust for flavor

Using a "Gold Standard" is probably a good idea, though that will vary depending on many factors in the local economy...
