I won't be getting the game any time soon, but...

Could I get a run down on what is (and isn't) in the book?

For example, can I use the info in it to run an Invid Invasion campaign? Are there any non-military OCCs? Can you play an Invid?

You can definitely do an Invid Invasion campaign, as long as all your players were playing REF Characters liberating earth. You can play any character from the 3 invasion Forces. From Lancer and Lunk - all the way to Shadow Chronicles.

Unfortunately there is no rules for Civillians, Aliens, and Former Military. Nor is there much in the way of information on Standard Vehicles (AAT-30, Trucks, Jeeps, Cars, Aircraft, etc...).

My view on the book is this: If you want to launch an attack on Reflex Point - this book is perfect. Otherwise, you will feel like it is lacking. But if you have Rifts UE, Older Robotech Books - you can fill in the blanks and still have lots of fun.

I plan on starting a PBP campaign set right after the Southern Cross defeat of the Masters. This will be a long term campaign, with lots of bumps in time.

Can I get a rundown of what classes there are, and wether they'd be suitable for playing non-UEEF (other military) characters?

The closest to anything for playing as an Invid is the stat roll-up for the RCB/Overlord, on page 45 and somewhere a couple later.

adside from that, I'd guess it's a matter of modifying OCCs for pilots into something that works for an Invid. *shrug*

I wasn't really thinking about the Invid, I was thinking more about conventional armed forces.

Oh. :) I guess I was just responding to the initial post, which did ask about it. But hmm... not sure on playing other standard militaries in it. Not a /lot/ of info on anything other than Expedition equipment and Invid equipment for the era. :)
