Depending on which silly fanfic continuity idea I'm running with...

The one where the Invid/Earth/Zentraedi alliance (stand together or die separately type of alliance, mind you) has to fight the partly rebuilt empire of the Masters and the Neo-Zents has Alpha/Beta combos with shrunk down fold drives, and plasma launchers on both units to make sure they don't run out of ammunition. It also has oversized Invid clamshell carriers with reflex cannons mounted on them, SDF-1 style battle fortresses as 'heavy cruiser' class capital ships... And a larger flagship.

The other one set a generation after Shadow Chronicles gave me an idea about how to handle all the empty Betas:

Essentially, the 'beta' section morphs into an expanded armor for the Alpha. Something like the FPA in Strike Force, but with vents in it so the Alpha can fire missiles if it needs to. It also used an energy rifle drawing from the main unit as a power source. That also had a first generation shrunk down fold drive, and went back to full scale protoculture fusion reactors, rather than canisters, to avoid running out of power during a fold. They can't fold very far mind you, the idea was essentially based on the Star Wars concept of the Rebel fighters having their own hyperdrives to be able to work without immediate capship support.

Both ideas are still 'in progress', at the moment. :)

Had a fanfic idea in development which had the Robotech Empire die abirthing by being taken over by a galaxy-spanning slaver race...Being hidden under Fantoma's high gravity and turbulent atmosphere, the Zentraedi go unnoticed...Later they team up with the Invid, who have also survived..The Regent, Regis, and senior Zentraedi form an alliance, and some three hundred or so years later the alliance is still fighting the slavers...The Task-vessel of choice is a miniature planetoid similar in concept to Darkmax's mini-Death Star, only the Zentraedi hulls are embedded in a giant space-going Invid hive, a powerful techno-organic powerhouse supporting a sizable fleet of Alliance ships(think Zentraedi ships with Invid Brain computers, scorpion-like features, and dozens of blisters housing quick-release units of Invid) and thousands of mecha.. The Invid have already adopted humanoid elite castes...warrior princes and princesses that teleport directly into the enemy ships and wreak havoc on strategic parts, while the Zentraedi are even more menacing, having multipled under the influence of Flower of Life in their diet into warriors able to send themselves into psychic-augmented berserker states of consciousness....

Ah... my idea is set post-second invasion, when the ship shows up with the evidence of the rebuilt Empire and the Neo-Zentraedi. And a chance to hit them before disaster befalls the galaxy. Hit first and harder. The Invid make out really well, since the attempted military integration puts them in Alpha/Beta combos. ;)

Yikes on the Invid and Zentraedi roles in your fanfic idea. Eep.

Most exotic things in mine character/racewise were in Beyond the Frontier, the post Shadow Chronicles idea:

Marlene Bernard (Scott and Ariel's Daughter, UEEF), Kiara Drel (Half Invid/Half Zentraedi (father was 3rd generation natural born Zent), UEEF). Alex Rush (Marcus and Maia's evil spawn, also UEEF. Marlene's boyfriend.). :P :)

By far, the creepiest of those was Kiara, mostly for the fanfic if she had enough Protoculture around to do it, she could resize without a chamber. Though it hit her darned hard to try it.

One of the possible nits in it was the idea that an Invid (or half-Invid) could draw power from an active protoculture reactor, if it was close enough. Or put enough out in glowing form to run something not terribly big, possibly. :p

But that's delving into nasty new Invid powers for creepy half-breeds, too. :)

A friend of mine and I came up with a Delta fighter a few years ago. It attached to the back of a beta/alpha.
The purpose was to turn a legioss into a cutter/corvette sized ship for deep recon/border action.
It had a syncro cannon and a boat-load of missiles. More importantly it had crew comforts and was rather large.
And it also transformed into a battloid. We lovingly called it our "Veritech Winnebago".

The Jester Cannon
The “Jester Cannon” is an all purpose automatic cannon. This is the only weapon able to use the 11mm APTMHEI (Armor Piercing/Tumbling/Mushrooming/High-Explosive Incendiary) Multi-Round. The round consists of four united, individual rounds (1x Armor Piercing round, 2x Tumbling Projectile rounds, 1x Extreme Mushrooming round, and 1x High Explosive/Incendiary round).
The primary advantage to this cannon is its light-weight and unparalleled power. The “Jester Cannon” comes with a host of attachments to convert it to a sniper rifle, or a small, but powerful, howitzer. Some of the attachments include an extended barrel, flash suppressor, low-light scope, standard scope, 50-, 200-, 450-round, or chain-feed mechanism, gyro-stabilization unit, and adjustable stock.
The weapon makes extensive use of Nanotechnology; the most prominent feature is the firing chamber/barrel component. A new innovation, found only in the “Jester Cannon,” is this variable diameter barrel, which is made of a malleable metallic substance and embedded with nano-robots, that is capable of adapting to any size ammunition from .177mm to 15mm. This allows the weapon to modify itself to accommodate any round that is made available for use; this includes standard rounds (SDC), shotgun rounds, neural rounds, AP rounds, and many others.

This weapon was SWEET! I once killed an ancient dragon with it by firing 100 APTMHEI rounds in to it. The character carried two of them. He was a BAD@$$!!!

The Z-Tech Catalogue:
It was a mini-netbook of items from Rifts Earth meant to upgrade Zentraedi for survival on Rifts Earth or in the Three Galaxies...covered everything from natural body armors and enhanced EBA, tools like battery packs and 'stepdown gloves' that allowed full-sized Zentraedi to handle micronian-sized tools, went up through melee weapons and sidearms, to personal vehicles(jetpacks and hover-boogieboards), and finally mecha...with LOTS of options...two different flavors of Female Power Armor, a Recovery Pod, new Male Power Armor, new Battlepods with such options as missile launchers on the legs, and a new Glaug that looked like an upscaled ED-209...
No more wimpy 1d6-2d4MD laser pistols for the big guys, nosirree....

A few from my early days:
1. A sentient alien weapon, type and model unknown -- it had wings, a healing beam, and almost as much power as a reflex cannon. The group needed a weapon to take down a malcontent ship and they had wasted everything else, so they (conveniently enough) "found" this in a crate on the launch platform. I had it run out of power and it couldn't be recharged in order to get it out of the game.
2. The Q-77 Matter Conversion Gun -- just set the controls and zap the target into a pile of radishes or cinder blocks. ZAP! *flowers floating to the ground* April Fool's joke that got out of hand. It backfired one day and turned into a goose before it flew away.
3. Personal Nuclear Grenades -- throw and RUN! The blast radius was just 10 feet, but the fallout and lingering radiation would kill you. God only knows why I gave the group several of these, I was young and dumb.
4. The Luck Virus -- the "victim" ran a fever, but he could alter the outcome of events in his favor for a week until his immune system fought off the virus. ( Maybe this could help characters avoid missile volleys??? ) A bad attempt to blend HU and RT making all the powers viral, bacterial, or genetic modifications due to contact with Protoculture Radiation.
And the best/worst one ever...
5. The M21 Anti-Cancer Cigar -- smoke one a day for the rest of your life and you will NEVER get cancer!! Just FUN! :clown:

The shape of the sphere and the alignment of the booms would rather limit the arc of fire and number of weapons you could bring to bear on any one target, I'd think...most effective, then, if you Folded into the midst of the Grand Fleet or similar formation...

Sounds like you dreamt this up after reading one of the Hitch Hikers Guide tot eh Universe books, was it a shrunk improbability drive?

Maybe the gun from the 1st book of the trilogy would be more effective on the invid.

The Battlegods; a Tirolian experiment in giving Zentraedi superhuman abilities(use HU superpowers and scale up accordingly)...Like the Protodevlin from Macross 7, these 'super-Zent' proved unmanagable, and only a desigend misFold kept the self-annointed Battlegods from heading back into the Empire and doing massive amounts of damage...
Unfortunately, all the Fold did was deposit the Battlegods on a primitive alien world where they really did set themselvbes up as gods...and multiple(since the experiemnt was performed on both male and female Zentraedi)...They've figured out where they came from now, have managed to rebuild their technology, and are ready to come back and settle accounts with their old creators...or whoever else is handy...

How about the Wing Zero Custom from Gundam Wing with a portable (sized-down) Macross Cannon (that's as powerful as the SDF-1's main cannons) with a Mobile Doll System Squad of Pheonix Gundams (that also have the mini-macross cannons) that the pilot (who's also a full 'borg) could control from the cockpit of the Wing Zero Custom???

Always thought those itty-bitty little laser cannons on the top of the Battlepods would be more effective if they were slaved to a better Phalanx-style targetting system, and/or autofire system.

So far the Munckin level that I have hit was fairly low com, pared to the munchies on the loose here.
I gave a player who was ship captain a new Zent Flag ship after I had seen the captains shuttle in STar Trek TNG, this captains shuttle was a fully armed and Ikazuchi.
You never know when an extra couple hundred VFs will come in handy for a Saucer Sep like excersize

Now for all the old school TMNT fans
what I was thinking is giving one of the massively powerful time lords from TMNT (the onses beyond the temporal barrier an sdf-1 type gun ship with a converted gun to do the what they do to people who attempt to pass the temporal barrier

Or Starblazer's Wave Motion Gun! That thing could obliterate a star!

The DOUBLE-barrelled Wave Motion Gun, as mounted on the Andromeda-class battleships...
Of course, a true Munchkin worthy of the title, takes this to the extreme with the EDF Gatling with SIX WMGs mounted in the prow...

Later in the Star Blazers/Space Battleship Yamato storyline, the EDF(Earth Defense Forces) builds a fleet of modern 'Yamato-pattern' warships, including two types of Andromeda-class battleship with twin wave motion guns in the nose...one of the two types is more or less a BATTLECRUISER, light on armor and fighters, and big on speed and armaments, while the other is a traditional battlewagon...
They don't fare too well against the Comet Empire, though...

Munchkins will of course only see the equation "one is unstoppable, two must be better, thus SIX must be GODLIKE.."

Ummmmm I'm not saying anything........... I will admit to loving that show! (StarBlazers) I have all three seasons! I have a place in my Phase World Galaxies campaign controlled by a group called the Earth Defense Force. They are allied to the Colonies of Man! :D That is as much as I will admit here.

That's because the Gamilons had their own Munchkins...or maybe bright underlings who realize that the answer to massive powerful weaponry in the hands of munchkins is often a simple solution...

Evil Overlord Advises: "Haul the Magic Girl down in the middle of her silly transformation sequence when she's naked and not yet powered up, and beat her up, rather than wait for her to be effectively invincible..."

IF I Were to Become a Magic Girl Advises: "If I discover I have a power-up sequence that has me vulnerable and in a silly pose for an extended period of time, I will immediately set about finding a sequence that is less silly, shorter, and less exposed...If not, I will find a way to modify my powered-up form so I can blend into everyday life while already powered-up, so as to avoid the need to find a telephone booth or dark alley in the middle of a crisis situation so I can power-up."

I may have seen it. But at this time I don't recognize it. The Anime title you have mentioned.

Then again, in those shows you'll notice that the posing sequence gets shortened whe the script has more story to it, so maybe it just requires a better writer to be vulnerable for a shorter period of time?

Magic Girl: Oh GOOD! A well written story. I don't have to wave my panties around as much before I can fight.

Same Magic Girl: Aw Crap! A bad story. At least most of my villains seem too enthralled by my panty waving to attack me at my most vulnerable.

Well, I feel very non-munchkin at this point, but all my zentraedi start at 10th level and can change size (micronian to giant or back) ONCE per 24 hour day. I figured that if they were going to be retardedly powerful, I might as well go nuts.

Also, on a fan-fic note, the Warhammer 40K universe has replaced the Robotech Masters, so now there are the 12 Masters of Tirol, and the Eternal Emperor is on Tirol, so that way I can have the Legions Astartes fight alongside my Zentraedi Warriors...doom on all who stand in the way of the Eternal Emperor of Tirol!

Most GM's would say, "Who am I to turn a player away?" Then you get a little older. start going through HS and something snaps. They start getting turned away and wonder why. Others grew up and they remained the same.

They still whine if they make a character that's "a little over the top" and then they finally realize that it's not just fun to play with someone who makes a character like that.

Here's a changeup for any of you Star Wars D6 fans out there: A "welder" droid with 6D6 for Strength and Dexterity. Wookies start with a 5D6 for strength so you have an idea where this is going. No surprise when the "welder" decides that a welding gun looks a lot like a blaster. I disallowed that character early. :x

Does this classify as a conversion?? If so...sorry.

No, the Invid are still the Invid...and the Tau are still the Tau...

Basic setting is Robotech timeline plus Cyberpunk 2013-2020 megacorps (though it has heavy shades of the Hardwired supplement...such as no Netrunning, just Hacking). Think...Nightbane...

Moreus are common, as per After the Bomb...

The Sentinels eventually turn into the United Federation of Planets...

The Sentinels' HQ is Babylon 5.

I have Star Wars owning 1/4 of the galaxy...the Tirolian Overlord Government owns 1/4 of the galaxy...thus the Sentinels timeline is extended into a full on invasion fleet into the heart of the TOG...AKA the Imperium of Man...and yes, their history is 40,000 years long and Earth is simply a lost colony...

Plus that gives me the freedom to toss in Battlestar Galactica...

So far all the different "stellar empires" I have incorporated are:
Eldar Craftworlds
Tyrannid Invasion fleets (all three of them)
The 'Borg
Species 1872
The Dominion
Shadows (The Haydonites are the new psuedo-Adeptus Mechanicus and also corrupted by the Shadows...hence, Shadow Technology)
Vorlons
Vilani
Vargr
The Renegade Legions
Naram
Commonwealth of Non Aligned Planets
Urkan Empire
Hydran
Lyran
Cardassian
Kzinti
Romulan
Klingon
ISC
Seltorian
Orion
Tholian
Gorn
Centauri
Narn
Bothan
Hutt Space
Corporate Sector Authority
The Five Great Houses (Kurita, Liao, Davion, Marik, Steiner)
The Clans (the history is completely different than BT canon, but I loved the names and the "influence" is clear in my version)
Kess Rith
Ssora
Ferengi
Forces of Chaos
Dark Eldar
Tau
Space Orks (or SPORKS, Waarrrgh!!)
Ferengi
Hapans
Sirians (yes, from "V")
Ssi-Ruuk
Chiss
Cylons
12 Colonies (all of which are now occupied by the Cylons AKA Mechanoids)

I have the Old Ones causing issues, as per a true HP Lovecraft afficianado.

Also, Predators and Aliens are present, though the Yaut-ja are primarily used as commandos for the Ssora...

Earth was subjected to the Rain of Death and caused the Rifts, but to a lesser extent than canon...but it allowed me to toss in more evil-ness.

That is my setting. It is very non-canon, and usually serves to **** everyone off, but hey, it works for me...It is the default setting of all my games (with some temporal engineering  ) since I started in 1989!

you do understand that Anima mecha combat often has a fighter pilot able to spit up a lot of lockons in a few seconds and launch multiple individualy targeted missles at each one. . .

besides that was not the most insain thing he has come up with.
