visual testing...

Unread post by glitterboy2098 »

i made this as an attempt to see if i could use programs at my disposal to generate 3D models sufficently good looking to use in future iron engineer contests.

the model is just sort of a "this is the toughest thing i could think of to pull off well".

Unmanned Interstellar Ramjet Explorer
In orbit prior to launch
much later, having left the galaxy

so what the verdict?

Good design concept

"Trouble rather the Tiger in his Lair,
Than the Sage among his Books,
For all the Empires and Kingdoms,
The Armies and Works that you hold Dear,
Are to him but the Playthings of the Moment,
To be turned over with the Flick of a Finger,
And the Turning of a Page"

part of that is probably the .jpg format. but the program is not intended for high detail display.

lets try a .png file..
test 2.

The program that we are using is free, easy, and small. And, as you see, powerful.

It's DOGA-L3

Trust me when I say it's very easy.

It took meg like 1 hour to learn the basics and create a starfighter, especially that
I did not started with that Guppy (see my GRG thread) to begin with.

Those are some awesome pics. Thanks for the links. I'll have to check those out at a later date. RL is keeping me busy.

Well I'm hoping he also had some ideas in terms of Phase World stats in his head. Maybe he'll fill us in...maybe he won't.
All I can do is ask.

i'll see what i can do when i have time. i've been packing boxes and loading a truck for my parents the last 3 days, and will end up spending tommorrow unloading and probably the next catatonic after all of it. i hate moving...

i hadn't really thought of stats at the time, it''ll be interesting to see if i can take the technology and bend the stats to fit the rather illogical and highly unrealistic phase world rules. after all, this is a drive you need to be moving 10% c before it will even function...and can reach a good 40% c...

Have fun getting back home for the summer GB. There are some stats Taalismn did for a shpi vaguely like the one GB created.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."
