What would the TGE do if someone discovered there little space ship lobsters (found in the Fydra Beta ship yards reveiw in the Three G's) on another planet in a slightly unmapped sector of space?

The Kreegohr would A) Nuke the planet from orbit.
B) Nuke the planet from orbit, nuke the ship-yard / harvesting plant.
C) Nuke 'em all and never mind sorting them out.
D) Nachos!
E) Invite everyone out for tea and annex the planet, shipyard et-al.

You are refering of course to the Nuk Ress Nuss, the gigantic sea creatures from which the TGE makes its starship hulls?

If such a planet is in the independant 25% of the Corkscrew Galaxy, called The Tail, I suspect they would soon be visited by an Imperial envoy. The Empire would offer the locals a deal of some kind... maybe technical assitance in exchange for letting them build another fleet yard in orbit. Since this part of the Corkscrew is like Central America in the 1980's, if this world becomes a close friend of the (communist) TGE all of a sudden, the CCW will send in special forces units to destabilize things and make it a Consortium (western) ally. (campaign hook)

If this planet is located in the unclaimed portion (about 47%) of the Thundercloud Galaxy, then the TGE will claim it, plant a flag, and start landing troops to enforce their claim. The locals, if they are a less developed people, will be forcibly acculturated and generally treated like black Africans circa 1880.

If this planet is found in the Anvil Galaxy... then there is likely to be war. Technically, by the books, there are no independant worlds left in the Anvil, so this world will belong to one power bloc or another.

If this world is within Consortium space at all (any of the galaxies), then Imperial Special forces will be sent in to somehow render the planet lifeless (a biological agent that kills the Nuk Ress Nuss, perhaps?) so that the CCW will never learn the creature's secrets or capabilities. Just one more espinonage mission in a Cold War 500 years long and counting...

I think both Braden and DhAkael have hit upon the solution the TGE would carry out if they discovered a planet outside of their control which possessed these creatures.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Even if Royals are dim-witted (IQ: 3d6+3), short fused (ME: 2d6+12) and
know little of persuasion over "either your signature or brain will be on this
contract" (MA: 3d6+3) - which they ain't - the Empire as a whole is not.

First, check out the Machine People RCC - they were offered the position
of an ally.

Second, Silhouette RCC - The "wiser and gentler" kreeghor of the time
integrated them into the Empire. A race with vast magical powers...
Remember? Kreeghor ARE vulnerable to magic.

And third, DMB2, page 73, section "Foreign Affairs". You know, the rabble
about well received Ambassadors.

----------------------------------------------
So, I more or less agree with Branden - for nuking a planet would result in
too many inconvenient questions.

First of all, even if the CCW catalogues the lifeform, they might not realise
its potential. Also, I think the TGE used their "sploog inheritance" - ie.
biowizardry - on the creatures, so in their "natural" form they might not
be identifiable as starship hulls.

That said, it is still of course a plan "D" or plan "E".

That is a good point KLM. As long as they don't have to use Plan 9 everyone in the Three Galaxies are safe from that plan.

I can still see the big powers that be in the Three Galaxies using special forces for a lot of circumstances. They'd correct a lot of problems and might not make the news for they were.

We respect everyone's opinion, whether it is supported by logics or not.

As a last kick into a dead horse, there was a period in the 3 Galaxies,
when the TGE acted more or less on DhAkael's line of thought.

But then, they faced the fact, that sometimes they can be treated
just like this (or even held responsible for those acts)...

Like the Soviet Union when they first realised that the US can destroy
the "Rodina" with nukes... (And then when the US realised, that the
reds have nukes too).

That is a great point KLM! MAD is a great way to view the current situation in the Three Galaxies at the present time.

Keeping the action contrained to small but elite groups performing vital missions also ensures that there will always be something for Player Character groups to do ;)

LOL!!! Good one Gadrin. Although for me snails are only good as fish bait.

I've always considered the PC's as being special forces. Since they act like it, they might as well be called the way they act.

Sounds like your players are going to have to their arms full of problems. I want to hear what does happen in your game!

So...when are we gonna get them books?

I can only assume that after the Robotech cash-cow is puty out to pasture, and the Minion War bottleneck is cleared, that we'll see both Fleets of the Three Galaxies and Thundercloud Galaxy.

If, however, you feel strongly enough about it, send a polite letter to Palladium asking them to release them. It can't hurt for them to know that there are paying customers waiting for said new products.

I know what you mean. Braden does know those areas better than a lot of people. Especially considering that he has at least two or more books coming out sometime in the near future. I'm looking forward to seeing his work make it out into our hands soon.

I look at it our world with it's various power blocks and that is how I view the Phase World universe. It makes for a great place to have all sorts of fun, both for the GM and the players. I have more info about those two powers too. (CCW and the TGE.)
