We have an old house rule that ones get a re-rolled on creation rolls such as money, attributes, P.P.E. or I.S.P & Bio-E points per level. We have used this rule for many years and it has very rarely if ever resulted in any attribute extra bonus dice. Our GM has a different rule for NPCs ones become twos. My friend rolled up a Monster Hunter with a P.P. of 9 and P.E. of 28 after O.C.C. bonuses and training, luckily his monster shaping tattoo can raise his P.P. to 30 in Gargoyle Lord form. Monster shaping tattoos give max physical attributes for that race to the Tattoo Man. I remember I rolled up a police man in Beyond the Supernatural and he got a I.Q. of 6, M.E. 6, M.A. 6 P.S. 11, P.P. 12 P.E. 6, P.B. 23, and Spd 23. He was pretty & quick, but wasn't too smart or charming and lacked endurance. I played him for a month before he got killed, It was no great loss.

Not my character, and not a Pall game but AD&D 2nd Ed, someone rolled two 12's and four 18's, while I was watching. I almost didn't let her have them, as she was my g/f at the time, and thought that the rest of the group would think favouratism. Then she argued the point, is someone else in the group had rolled those numbers, would I have let them keep them? So, I let her keep those roles.

Was one of the most impressive results I've seen for rolling a character's stats.

I've never, ever reached 30. That much I know.

I've rolled up a lot of characters. The best was a Rifts Russia Ecto-hunter; he had two extremely good rolls. M.A. was 24 or 26 and P.B. was 24 or 26. Whichever one was 24, the other was 26. Charming, gorgeous, and insane!

Otherwise 22's probably the highest.

I simply wrote a program that rerolled until all stats were over 18.

As a GM, I witnessed two characters both roll 24's (I saw the rolls) for their PP stats as Veritech pilots. Both in the same game! It was tricky to challenge this group but I learned a lot from that game. For one, I learned that no matter how invincible characters may seem, they can be taken down and challenged without cheating.

I've seen 24's come up legitimately from time to time in other games as well. But in over twenty years of using this system and I don't know how many characters I've played or seen rolled up, it doesn't happen often and when it does, the character usually winds up having a special place in the players heart.
I was raised to beleive if you can't say something nice about a person, say nothing at all. This has led to living a very quiet life.

For humans the highest I got was 26. Usually I just average with a pretty good roll on each character such as around 20 +/- 2.

For the times I get to roll 5D6 I generally get a little better; 22 +/- 2.

I had a character with an IQ of over 110, IIRC.

My longest Lasting Rift's Character had a PS of 30 in Rifts first edition and a PS of 40 when I converted him to Rifts Ultimate edition. Needless to say as a 6'10", 357 pound Jujitsu master there arn't very many Juicer's upset about him wearing Mankiller EBA.

I rolled up a Seljuk Mind Melter with a PS of 61 after only a couple Physical Skills. He was tough and strong, especially with his Psi sword.

Rolling?
I think maybe a 22 or 23 was the absolute highest.

Constructing?
In the Heroes Unlimited Forums we figured out a way to get someone a P.S. of about 1197.
Thats just freaking scary.

In my regular Phase World game, there is an NPC Temporal Physicist (Scientist) with a legitimately rolled IQ of 29. He is one point away from being able to picture, in his mind, the theory of everything... but that particular skill (from Transdimensional Turtles) requires an IQ of at least 30.

How frustrating is that?

If playing a human in our group, we re-roll 1's in character creation and allow the player to place the numbers in the stats that they wat, often so they can take the O.C.C. that they want. I have a headhunter assassin with a P.P. of 30 (after skills) his other attributes aren't that good, but then again, thats what cybernetics and bionics are for. hahaha.

I've rolled lots of characters, some even with natural 30's on stuff. These were little more than excersizes in character generation though. The highest stat I've rolled for a character I've played (more than once as well) is an ME of 25.

Best PP I ever ended up with was in the low forties.
Best PB was about the same.
Best PS was insane, several hundred or maybe a thousand.
Best PE was also (IIRC) in the forties.
Best Spd. was in the thousands.

I have one PC who's lowest attribute is 35--but I have to ask--how do you get Spd. into thousands?

Robot.

Same with PS, IIRC. Back in HU1, I don't believe there was any limit on robotic strength.

Cyber Knight with a PP of 34.
