Thoughts on Thoughtography

While I was working on my latest monster submission to the Rifter (or upcoming sourcebook I'm working on, not sure where it's going yet) I was rereading the psychic abilites available. While I can see potential use in pretty much all the abilites offered, I am completley stumped as what useful purpose Thoughtography (pg 107) offers characters in a given game setting.

I went as far as to ask my group players their opinions (offering a 500 bonus point reward for best use) and their thoughts arent offering me much to go on either.

Does anyone out there have any experiences where this ability proved useful to share with me? Or even just theories on where this might come in handy?

:?

Maybe in doctoring photographic evidence, before it's developed or printed?

I haven’t posted on this topic in ages, so it took me a bit of searching to find it.

While working on a writing/creative exercise to keep the skills sharp, I had what I think was a neat idea for this power.
Imagine I you will, a Psi-Mechanic who’s occupation is forgery. Using Thoughtography, he could get a good look at an employee badge (as they are effectively pictures) and burn this image onto film/disk/etc. (I used his IPad memory in my scribes as his source). From here he could take the image to his shop and make an exact forgery of the badge (to impersonate the employee) or create a base template to forge whoever and whatever names he wants on it.

Roleplayer's answer: My character is crippled from the nose down. He uses telepathy to converse and woo other other characters, but thoughtogrpahy is more useful for his grocery lists.

Real man's answer: I use Astral Projection to scout out every room before I enter it. If I find an ally somewhere ahead, I can use this to communicate anywhere that I am projecting. Telepathy works better, but its good to have a backup.

Munchkin's answer: Thoughtography should be useful in psi-devices. Why not? I built a phone which can Communicate with Spirits, but what happens if the phone rings while I am gone? The more advanced model has an integrated Thoughtography-powered answering machine. (I actually used that trick in the Court ofb Tarot)

Wacko's answer: The GM made that haunted painted indestructable and covered in a force field specifically so I could not deface it. Guess what -- big mustach time!
