Anyone Playing/Running BTS on Halloween night?

Unread post by mrloucifer »

I'm just tacky enough to look forward to playing a BTS game on Halloween and was wondering who else was planning to do so?

I'm going old school this halloween... I'm setting my adventure in New England where a group of teenagers go out to an old barn to drink beer and scare each other out of boredom this Halloween evening. One of them will have an old "spell book" that he says supposedly belonged to his "great, great, great aunt who was like, a witch or something and was burned at the stake and this is like, her spell book man!"

So naturally the gang draws the circles and symbols out of the book, half tanked and clueless about what they are doing.

Well, it seems the old aunt really was a witch and her spell book is real... or more specifically its a book of summoning rituals.

Before they know, a demon (named "Malfrog") appears before them and its peturbed about these insolent children disturbing his slumber on Halloween night of all nights! Using the powers at his disposal he'll summon up a murder crows and animate all the scarecrows in the community to hunt these kids down with pitchforks and whatever tools they come across and kill them all!

This is where the heroes come in who find the teens running and screaming like mad from animated scarecrows hot on their trail. The kids will eventually explain what they did and since there is a parapsychologist in the group I'm giving him the knowledge that if they can destroy the circle before midnight ( its 10:00 pm already), Malfrog is forced to leave and goes back home.

Along the way they may face more scarecrows, angry crows, and perhaps a protective creature of two summoned by Malfrog to protect him as he slumbers in the barn.

Will they ruin the circle in time and send the dreaded Malfrog? We'll find out tonight. ;)

Anyone is free to use my adventure idea if they are strapped for one tonight. I'm generous like that 8)

I like this idea.

Nice - regretably I spent 13 hours on my feet in costume starting at about 7 AM (it's the morning after and I still feel like I'm wearing the horns) - so I didn't have the energy for a BTS game. Would have loved to.

So I ran this adventure friday night, and while the scarecrow attack and the flock of crows were good distractions, my group was moving faster than I had expected (still two hours till midnight and they were on the Demon's heels). So Taking a cue from Halloween mania I looked out my front window and notice my neighbor's Jack-O-Lanterns were still lit. Suddenly I had a spark of inspiration!

I sent the gang through a pumpkin patch in the way to the barn. Suddenly several of the larger pumpkins sprang to life with horrifying animated faces and an unnatural green glow coming from inside of them. They began to attack the group, biting at their legs and hands/arms. It was a hokey but actually a swank and spooky fight. The gang found the idea of being chewed on and possibly eaten by animated Jack-O- Lanterns to be rather unnerving. A few other events happened along the way and eventually good conquered all.

We all had so much fun playing this adventure that I may end up writing a submission for next years halloween themed Rifter. :D
