in the back Land of the damned book 1, they have a monster generator. you could use that as a way to make an ISP vamp.

Maybe, they are PSI's that have to 'feed' off other PSI's ISP to regain the ISP they have used.
Maybe just needing to be in the presence of the PSI's to feed (maybe having to siphon off the ISP they are recovering after using some ISP), or needing to cut the PSI's to feed off their ISP like a Psi Stalkers, or they have to do something like mind flayers and as they feed off the ISP as they ingest a living brain.

If I remember correctly, Mind Bleeders are ISP vampires.

IIRC, Armored Slayers are also ISP vampires. They cover you in goo, goo absorbs the ISP, they eat the goo.

Can't PPE vampires feed off of ISP as well? I'd think so since there are instances where PPE can transfer to ISP and vice versa. Might help broaden the antagonist pool for your group too!

No, PPE vamp's can't eat ISP.

Can you specify a book/page number that details it or at least gives a practical example to base that statement off of? I'm not trying to argue I'd just really like to know where it's at. Thanks!

Every psychic vampire specifies what it eats. IIRC, the RUE Psi-Stalkers do get some nourishment from ISP, despite traditionally being PPE vampires. However, unless it says that it eats ISP, it doesn't.

At least, that's my position.

Nice! That was where I was basing my question from (the psi stalker entry). Just thought that since the two are interchangeable on a couple of different levels, why not as a food source as well?

PPE is the energy of the Body and Soul

ISP is only the power of the Mind

Sounds incompatible to me.

While the Power Levels are about 2 ISP to 1 PPE it is like comparing Gravity to Electricity.

This is unlike the relationship between PPE and chi (the energy of spirit and body), where it would be comparing Magnetism to Electricity.

Well thanks for your opinion, but we're not talking about incompatibility or doing anything as drastic as comparing gravity to electricity. Especially considering that ISP and PPE are both power sources

Fact is, they are interchangeable. You can power TW devices with PPE or ISP. There is even a magic spell that converts one into the other.

My point is that they are NOT interchangeable.

at to the TW weapon aspect its like the difference of getting electricity from Nuclear power plant and getting it from a solar farm (solar-cells). while they both supply power, they exist in different forms.

As to the 'Restore PPE' Psi power, it is a munchkin concept of a psi power (it breaks the concepts of ISP and PPE) that should not even have been in the books ! ! !

Actually solar and nuclear are more similar than that, they both use heat to generate electircity. Just the source of the heat is different.

Further PPE and ISP have always been related, after all you spend PPE to get psionics and develop ISP.
