The behemoth isn't meant for combat at all, so the armor is fine where it is. me and my group retro-fitted the thing with hover abilities and got rid of the legs. incidentally, i think it aftermath of the war there was something about archine developing new models of the behemoth including a military version

The new Sun Chariot from Naruni Wave 2...

You like Naruni stuff? You like Robotech Saber Cyclones? BAM! Here you go!

Oh yea, I forgot to mention, it takes no damage from plasma attacks and half from kinetic attacks...

It transforms! Thats freaking cool!

Count me in as another fan of the NG Hunter. Everything the Kittani put out. The only race in the book that builds Robots and PA based on animal designs. Also most of the Robots/PA in rifts Underseas.

the Samson was nice, I personally enjoy the Coalition UAR-1 Enforcer, it's got the best fighting range of all the CS bots, and it's One Man pilotable, excellent firepower and mobility.

The Triax DragonWing, especially the "GlitterWing" variant - with the chromium armour.

The SAMAS with radio and radar jamming abilities, is it the Sidewinder or Wild Weasel?
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

True but it has one flaw that some other PA do not. It can't fly. Still decent has a ground unit though.

Yeah... I have this feeling too. Plus the same for

Solar combat armour from SA2.

Better flight than Flying Titan
Better armour than a old school SAMAS
2D4x10 primary weapon attack
Immunity to plasma attacks
Limited immunity to projectile and missile attacks.
Good mix of ballistic and energy weapons.

Only problem with it (imho) is you can't use add-on weapons.

Mechanoids old-style Runt. I always wanted one as a pet/lackey. (Assuming it wouldn't strangle me in my sleep.)

The good old NG Samson. No flight capabilities, but excellent bang for the buck. I picture small teams of them working as heavy infantry.

If you have a japanese PA, with CS weapons, NE force field...
...then drop in a couple of TW additions and the psylite
crystals from the Psionic Power Armor from DMB2:PW...

...and duck, before someone cries munchkin.

Really, since PB/RIFTS stats are screwed up, any
costumisation attempts:
a, "If that easy is to create the Über-PA why the CS did not field them?"
(insert NG, Triax, Titan, whatever)
b, "Munchkin - disallowed"
c, Wreak havoc in a poorly GM-ed world.
d, Will be nerfed

Looking up, I would go for it with TW additions, like shadow meld or

..I've always been partial to the Titan Explorer..

"I don't like it, Aisu." Roger brought the battered Titan Exploration Robot to a halt in a clearing on the east edge of the sprawling town.

Aisu unstrapped his seat belt and stepped to the ladder at the rear of the compartment. With a flair of his cape, he turned to his young human friend and said "We all know this is probably a trap, but what choice do we have? If we don't find Jaina's niece in the next few months, we'll never get her off the Juice."

"I still don't like it!" Roger grumbled as he struggled to pull the sleeve of his Huntsman armor over the shiny bionic limb that replaced his left arm.

Climbing out into the open air, Aisu could see the five story tavern that was the center of this wilderness community, The Rusty Nail, dwarfing every other building in the valley. He had been here time and again, each time noticing a stronger atmosphere of distrust and paranoia.

"Just like I remembered it; Filthy and run down." Jaina sneered as Aisu stood beside her on the shoulder of the two story behemoth they called home. "Didn't you say you'd never bring me back here?" she asked in an accusatory manner

that made Aisu's pointed ears burn with shame.

"Jaina, I. . ." He stood with his hands out trying to find the words to sooth his love's anger, feeling like a fool. He was grateful when Roger finally emerged from the hatch.

"How's that Sensor turret, Jaina?" Roger asked as he handed his back pack to Aisu to better climb out of the compartment.

"I've got the radar jury-rigged, but I wouldn't trust it. We need to completely replace it." Jaina responded as she shouldered her L20 Pulse Rifle and began to descend the ladder on the back side of the robot.

"We don't have time to hit the Salvage yard before the meeting. We'll have to catch it on the way back." Roger turned to his Elven friend and added "If we don't get killed on the way."

The Rusty Nail was a typical response to the large number of transients that found small communities like Bassville the perfect little piece of civilization. Many trappers who worked the surrounding Ozark mountains came to Bassville to sell their wares, and the majority of the same spent half their profits in The Rusty Nail in the first twenty four hours of their stay. It would have looked like a saloon from the old west if it weren't for the reinforced steal and ceramic polymers used in place of wood for building materials.

Aisu, Roger and Jaina sat at a table at the corner of the second floor balcony, giving them an expansive view of the main floor. Ragged men gambled away their credits at roulette and craps tables, occasionally bursting out in excited yells, but more often grumbling about the tables being rigged.

"It's good that you wore your hood, Aisu. I don't think the new customers would appreciate the company of an elf." Roger said as he loosed his Ion Blaster from it's holster.

As Aisu pulled his hood forward to better shadow his features he watched a group of six Coalition Dead Boys enter the building. A squat man with a limp approached the leader of the group whose red sash and odd helmet gave away his rank as a Specialist.

"Isn't that Genoe, our contact?!" Roger growled as the squat man pointed directly at their table.

"Get down!" Jaina screamed as she leveled her pulse rifle on the traitorous dwarf at the feet of the Coalition Search and Destroy Squad. As her shot went through the Dwarfs torso, the Dead Boys dove for cover under nearby tables. Bedlam erupted as trappers and vagabonds scrambled to get out of the line of fire.

Roger crawled to the edge of the balcony pistol first, fired a short burst, and risked a glance towards the door. "They're coming up the stairs!" He shouted as he ducked down to avoid the return fire.

Aisu muttered under his breath and waved his hands. A swirl of blue energy appeared and formed a glowing transparent wall between the approaching soldiers and Aisu's party.

As shots bounced off of the magic energy field, Roger and Jaina continued to shoot at the soldiers remaining on the lower level. Aisu mumbled again and another swirl of mystic energy formed a circular hole in the air. "Let's get out of here!" He yelled as he pulled a pistol from his own belt and fired a shot around the collapsing energy field.

Roger dove head first through the hole, followed by Aisu and then Jaina. As they disappeared through the hole, the three soldier that had come up the stairs scrambled forward to shoot through the hole after them.

All too soon for the soldiers the mystic portal closed behind their quarry. the lead soldier turned to the table that the D-Bee lovers had been sitting at and saw a small wrapped box with a ribbon on it. "Hey, what's this?" he asked himself a nanosecond before the disguised fusion block exploded in a ball of flame, atomizing the three soldiers and everything else within ten feet.

Roger landed with a crunch on the now shattered remains of the already heavily damaged sensor turret that was formerly the 'eyes and ears' of his beloved exploration robot. "Aargh! Of all the rotten luck-!" he exclaimed as he made a futile attempt to place the pieces together.

Aisu came through the portal right behind him and scrambled to get the hatch open. Jaina landed on the robots shoulder and scanned the surrounding area as Aisu gestured toward the area of sky that they had just fallen from.

"Roger! They've got reinforcements in the air!" Jaina shouted as she watched two SAMAS lift off out of the trees

to the south. "They haven't spotted us yet!" she exclaimed as Roger pushed past Aisu down the hatch.

"Our radar's completely blown!" Roger screamed in frustration as Aisu scrambled down the ladder into the compartment.

"We'll have to abandon the Robot before they make us!" Jaina snapped as she jumped down into the compartment. "Get your things! We only have a few seconds!" she yelled at Roger as she opened the storage bay and grabbed her duffel.

"Not my baby!" Roger moaned as Jaina pulled him from his chair and pushed him towards the ladder. As he grabbed his own bag he was momentarily deafened by the roar of the SAMAS' jet engines as the human sized power armor did a flyby.

"They've spotted us!" Jaina yelled in frustration as she pushed by Roger to see out the hatch.

"We can't risk running for the woods!" Aisu said as a the high pitched whine of a second set of jet engines flying by was garbled by the sound of the SAMAS' railgun burst peppering the previously unscathed right side of the robot. Waving his hands and chanting again, blue energy swirled at the front of the compartment and formed into a mystic door to a wooded area with a stream. "Quickly! Through the portal!"

The two SAMAS came around at the end of the valley and rocketed towards the robot at break-neck speed. As they flew past the robot they extended their left arms and simultaneously launched their mini-missiles at the open hatch on the robot's shoulder.

"Direct hit!" shouted the lead pilot into his radio as plumes of flame and smoke rose from the hatch of the Titan Robot. A moment later the Robot's self destruct went off, cracking the nuclear core of the power source. "Lieutenant! I'm reading a radiation leak on their robot! Looks like they hit the self destruct."

Lieutenant Calhoun mounted his Sky Cycle and responded "Affirmative. Return to base camp and prepare to head home. I'll inform central of the leak and organize an evacuation. Calhoun out." As he launched his cycle and headed for the mayors house outside town, he thought to himself Why do I get the feeling that those three will turn up again?

Walking along the stream behind Aisu, Roger monitored the radio transmissions coming from the town half a mile away. "The self destruct caused a reactor leak. They're too busy evacuating that town to come looking for us."

"Good riddance." Jaina said as she hacked her way through dense foliage to avoid having to walk in the stream.

"Sorry about your robot, Roger." Aisu said turning to his friend. "We'll get you another one eventually."

A few moments later Roger said "I hear their hiring robot pilots in Eminence."

"Maybe when we get there we can get a few leads on Genoe's source." Aisu surmised.

Jaina stopped and turned on Aisu with death in her eyes. "That is enough! Little Sara is dead! I'm sick and tired of you leading us on this wild goose chase so you can convince me to go through detox! It's not going to happen, so just forget it!"

"But Jaina, I-" Aisu tried to respond.

"No! I've had enough! When we get to Eminence, we go our separate ways! End of discussion!" Jaina turned and easily leapt the fifteen feet across the stream and trudged off through the woods. After a moment, Aisu and his friend sloshed through the stream and silently followed.

What have I done? Aisu silently asked himself. Have I lost her already?

Another one i will add to the list are the Kittani Dinosaur style robots from the South America books. Not sure which one they are listed in. Another one is a Northern Gun Robot. I cannot rememer the name exactly NG-Multibot I think. It had V shaped Launcers on the back that fired Medium missles. One of the few robots that has them as most of the time it's either short or long range missles and a handy escape vehicle too.

they solved that in Merc ops with the NG-11F "red hawk" so mix a unit with X9's and 11F's and you have the air portion covered. And the NG armour can be be modded for EW and other specialized tasks.

Mine would be the TC-R5 Gargoyle stopper.
(Crazy looking and really cool abilities for ranged combat)

I have to say that I liked that one as well. It was effective without causing power creep issues, unlike much of the later stuff. And it looked both cool and practical at the same time (as opposed to the GiGi. Not even Barbie has a waist small enough to squeeze into that suit).

Model: AB-1
Class: Infantry, assault robot
crew: 1 Note: could be considered a power armor in size but pilot sits at controls
M.C.D. by location:
hands: (2)-100
Reinforced forearms / weapon housing: (2) - 200 each
Upper arms : (2)- 100 each
Legs: (2)- 450 each
*Head ball turret: 350
armored drum (on back): 200
** inset multi-sensors: (5) 25
Leg head light: (2) 10
***Main body:700
Reinforced pilot's compartment: 100

*Finding a head on a robot stupid I placed a ball turret there. Then armored the heck out of it so
people would have something to shoot at.
** 5 multi-sensors are in set on the body. One just in from each shoulder joint, two inset in the ball turret and one on the back just below the ammo drum.
note: The sensor are very small and difficult to hit, especially on a moving target. thus they can only be hit on a called shot and even then at a -3 to strike.
Destroying all 5 sensors effectively blind the robot
*** as always depleting the M.D.C. of the main body destroys the bot, shutting it down completely.
But dose not destroy the Reinforced pilot's compartment.

PS: 40
Speed: 75 mph (speed. 110)
Leaping: the powerful robot legs can leap up to 20 feet high or across. Add 10 feet with a running start. Hover system allows for amazing agility, and even more impressive jumping 500 feet up and
across. Plus thrusters can brake any fall.
Flying: Micro hover system designed for mobility not flight, turning in mid jump, balance assistance and powered assisted dodges. Even firing when leaping (but at -2) is possible. Micro thrusters and internal Gyros and onboard computer help keep robot righted and give a plus 10% to acrobatics and 10% to gymnastics.

Statistical data:
Height: 15 feet from head (ball turret) to toe. 18 feet with Gatling gun in full inclination.
Width: 7 feet
Length: 8 feet Weight:5426 lbs. (So far)
Cargo: A small area under the seat (24x24x30 inches) big enough for a large ruck sack and a long pistol or a SMG And a 3 gallon water cooler built into back of seat.
Power system: 10 year nuclear (these things are real expensive)
Cost:20,000,000

Weapon systems
1.Left Forearm automatic grenade launchers (WI-GL20)
Purpose: anti-infantry/ anti-armor
Secondary purpose: cover fire/ defense
rate of fire: single shot or burst (burst=10 grenades)
mega damage: 4d6 to a 12' area with fragmentary grenade
1 bust of fragmentation dose 2d6x10 to a 40' area (to quote danger, dodge that monkey boy)
1d4x10 to a blast area of 3' for a armor-piercing
or 3d6x10 to 8 ' for a burst of armor-piercing
max range: 3000'
Rate of fire: Standard
Pay load: 2000 round drum belt fed from back (belt has 12 MDC)

2. Right forearm laser blade (A really big Wilkes laser sword)
Purpose: close quarters combat
Secondary purpose: utility tool
rate of fire: equal to # of hand to hand attacks
Mega- damage:6d6+6
range: 9'
note laser sword cannot be use two parry but the Reinforced forearms can be used.

3. Vulcan ball turret (IH-44L )
Ball turret rotates 360degrees and rises 180degrees (meaning it can flip front to back)
allowing for rapid target acquisition.
Primary purpose: Anti-robot/vehicle and anti-dragon/monster
Secondary purpose: defense
Mega- damage : 3d4x10 md per burst (count as one attack)
effective range: 4000'
Rate of fire: 6 times per melee
payload: unlimited, hooked directly to bots power supply

4. Modified power halberd (larger, heavier and slightly more powerful )
My operator fell in love with one he pick up in phase world, used it with his power armor and just had to make one for this robot. This fearsome melee weapon is a large heavy blade and armored handle that is
mostly battery. Operates on the same principle as the smaller power halberd (in phase world page 116) only larger much heaver. Hooks to back of bot with clamps that double as chargers has a 60 minute
charge, and takes 60 min to recharge.
Weight: 80 lbs.
mega-damage: 1d8x10 when powered up. 2d6 md to hand to hand when not.
length: 14 feet long has 100 mdc on the shaft. The blade unbreakable when powered up, 70 mdc
when not.
Rate of fire: equal to # of hand to hand attacks
range: melee or thrown 80' ( not balanced for throwing)

5. Hand to hand Same as enforcer save added bonuses provided below do to extra sensors and enhanced
combat computer (bordering on AI)
+3 to ranged strikes
+2 strike melee
+3 parry
+4 dodge
+4 inish
+1 attack
We made this in game (and with a lot advice from the boards) using only tec available in North America It was expensive But worth it!

The Ulti-Max and UAR-1 Enforcer were both highly balanced one-man PA/Bots.

The War Crab is a decent heavy artillery/long range partner to the higher speed War Fish.

The Dragon Wing, however, I'm not familiar with. Which book is that in?

Except the Enforcer is a two seated machine...

The Dragonwing is in the Triax@NGR - it is a 6 limbed (2 arms,
2 weapon arms, 2 legs) flying robot, with supersonic speed and
decent firepower. It is one of the few NGR machines which can
take on a gargoyle horde even when vastly outnumbered.

I would say if you can do both. Myself I prefer generic.
If it's stupid and it works. It's not stupid

Palladium can't be given a free pass for criticism because people have a lot of emotion invested in it.

Pathfinder is good. It is not the second coming of D&D.

On the note of customization, I present the ultimate light PA

Triax T-C20 Combat Terrain Hopper.

Increase Main Body to 240 (you could go to 300 but I kept it under 250 because the character I designed it for is a psi-stalker and I don;t want his senses blocked), increase other locations by 10%

Increase Speed by 30% (this puts the power-leaping speed around 200mph)

Dropped the wimpy arm lasers and mounted a pair of Wilk's Laser Knives (New West. You could use 3-blade vibro-claws if you want to save some cash. I just wanted somethign a little flashier)

Mounted a Naruni Super-Heavy forcefield, power-linked.

And, finally, a JA-12, power-linked (though for this char I made it equivelant to a NG rechargable energy pack rather than a straingt unlimited power supply. Figured the small nuke reactor would be overtaxed)

Tallying up the costs (as per the rules in Rifts Mercs and the cost of the weapons and forcefield) came out to 1.2 mill

1.2 mill isn't bad by PA standards, and with the forcefield, your main MDC is 400 points.
400 MDC,
200mph constant speed with limited flight
A 1d6x10+10MD 4000ft main cannon, with a 6-shot Mini-Missile pack and a grenade launcher
3d6MD hand-to-hand damage
Automatic Dodge(!)

You could add more MD (The cap is 100 extra, I think I ended up with 80 after adding MD to the backpack head and arms/legs (I had to guess on the base MDC of the arms/legs though since they weren;t originally listed) and if you wanted to spend a lot more money you could use the K-Universal Kittani knockoff and get a few more MD and a higher PS score, but all in all I think it turned out pretty well.

The character calls it "Steel Shadow"

Very nice, (and similar to my C-20.) but where do you get the auto-dodge?

Edit: Never mind, I saw your post in the thread about forgetten tech. I forgot about that poorly worded text in the description.

Galahad_Knight wrote:It could be read differently, I suppose. It's just the way we've always done it. (My first Rifts GM pointed the suit out to me when the book first came out and mentioned the auto-dodge)

Either way it's still a good suit for the character. I dropped the laser knives for vibro-claws though. I forgot you can't parry with laser knives. It's painted black, with a smoothed out, featureless helmet (Like the helm on Free Quebec armor but without the spikes), with the stalker's eye tattoos painted on it in white (Looks similar to Grendel, or Venom from Spider-Man's eye markings)

My GM and I went the opposite way. We looked at that sentence and thought "Naa, they can't mean it gets an auto-dodge, that would be too powerful for a low end PA suit." My main argument then and now is that no other PA suit gets an auto-dodge, so why would the C-20 &21?

I went with the Fore-arm Integral Weapons Systems from Juicer Uprising. Good damage on the Vibrio-blades and great close range firepower from the Ion blasters. Cammo pattern with silver spikes on the knees, elbows. shins, and shoulders for striking vamps.

My favorite is the Titan Fast Response robot from Rifter #4. It is Official Material since it is in the article about ARCHIE and his new Tech Toys. I don't know why I like it so much since there isn't anything too spectacular aboutit, but it has always been one of my favorites.

The Hellion Skelebot ... the massproducable juicer-bot with Robotic Strength.

And then there's the Traix X-2000 Dyan-Max and it's cool Slammer Missiles.

And let's not forget the Kitanni Serpent PA that doesn't get a lot of hype even though it's as tough as some bots and has an Auto Dodge.

I have allways loved the gladius. Cheap electric power armor that grants +1 attack.
