Which Race would you prefer to play?

I generaly play humans, and they are my favorate because I know them the best (for clear reasons). Generaly the only time I'm not a human, is when I play the occasinal power trip game, where I'm generaly a Deevil (Beast being the highlight). But that's all sort of a moot point, as I GM 98% of the time.

To arms, people of the Wolfen Empire, to arms!
The time stands not now to expostulate!
The armies of the Eastern Territories are here,
In our tribelands, amongst our trees, on our very doorstep,
And they are not come to parley in pleasentries
With dandified diplomats all bowing!
They are come with famine, sword, and fire
To make new war upon us, and we must respond in kind!
In frozen northern woodland I am born
With only teeth and claws as dear allies.
I bare them now to save my self and kin
For damnéd human laws I won't abide.
Through darkest night and coldest cold I march
E'er onward towards our races' shining goal -
Praise and howl! Praise and howl!
The Empire is come.
(Put me down for Wolfen.)

Humans are my "default" race.
If I want to play an exotic character however, I am most likely to pick the Wolfen.

Changelings. The mystique and interest of the changeling assasin, or summoner, hated by others on both ends of the stick. One of my most interesting characters was a changling summoner who pretended to be an elven diabolist who had mastered circles and learned to change his shape through magic. I can remeber dieing, only having something like one SDC and two HP, and having all the other players at the table trying to convince me that I wasn't dead becuase elves get a 10 SDC bonus. Fun times.
I've already voted...but I must put another 2 cents in. Some of the most fun our group has ever had was when I played a Baal Rog. The strange part was he was Principled...well kind of. He was summoned to assist this elite socialite mage in impressing her friends so she tried to teach him how to properly behave. Eventually he started to like it and CHOSE to stay with her. Midway through his "human lessons" she was slain by demons. Knowing the difference between right and wrong, he started to adventure killing those who do wrong.

Rape = Death Penalty
Stealing a Candy Bar = Death Penalty
Jay Walking = Death Penalty
It proved for some interesting encounters for the party...

Now THAT is the right call. The supreme race. I always play minotaur if given the option. If they aren't allowed, I'll usually randomly roll to see what race.
Oh, and minotaur magic user, if I roll the IQ for it (and amazingly enough, I normally do). I try for diabolist, but will settle for wizard. Warlock if I absolutely MUST. But minotaur diabolist... THAT is the way to go.

I've known GMs who didn't allow Minotaurs, but I could never understand why not.
They aren't so powerful as to be unbalancing, and it's not like they can't have skills to contribute to the team.
I've only had one player ever want to run one, but it worked out fine.

I almost always test-drive humans first in any game where race is an issue, so I guess they're my favorite race. Traditional elves and dwarves have never really sparked my interest as a player, although I have played them. Despite that, one of my favorite all-time characters is an elven longbowman who was active in my PFRPG campaign for many years. My favorite non-human race is definitely the Wolfen. I really like their concept and backstory, and I think they're tons of fun on both sides of the GM screen. (does anybody but me still use those?) My favorite all-time character from a player perspective is human, but a close second is a wolfen witch I played through 1990 and part of '91. What a badass he was....

What differences were there?
Primarily size. The 1st edition ogre was about 6-8 feet tall, as opposed to 8-12 feet tall. The 2nd edition ogre also loses psionics (but not the ability to take PCCs), but gains skill bonuses. IMO, the 1st edition ogre was a lot more reasonable as a human off-shoot,

Another of my Favs is Gnomes. They're about the same height as my daughter, so I can always have good visual in my head of a gnome. Plus, you can use one of my favourite techniques:
1. Gnome Spellcaster makes friends with the tallest guy in the party (6' or taller)
2. Gnome measures distance from the bottom of his feet to his armpits
3. Gnome takes measurements (and big guy) to the local backpack maker
4. Big guy wears backpack with Gnome inside firing his crossbow and tossing spells during combat, sleeping during those long walks, and manipulating (or motivating depending on intelligence) in between naps.

Not a snuggly...a backpack big enough to shoot out of, and then crawl inside and sleep. Big people use animals to transport them around, and miniature riding animals are much more expensive than a horse (I don't care about canon, don't confuse me with the facts, I'm right). Big people have to pay for their horses, I can get mine for just a little sweet talking and worst case scenario, when the party splits the booty, I'll have to give a section of my cut to my...ride.
