Eyes of Eylor
Not sure I spelled it right, but I could have sworn back when I was playing with my old group that adding an Eye of Eylor to a weapon doubled the damage the weapon could deal. I can't find where we found that though. Anyone know?

Maybe it isn't, maybe it was something else. I'm sure somewhere there was something that doubled weapon damage. Maybe it was one of the wormwood things.

correct. adding a bloodstone to a weapon will double the damage.

Yeah, too bad it can't leave Wormwood! Or maybe I should be glad as a GM that it can't leave!

Yep...instead it should be in an arms dealer's showroom, behind foot-thick armor crystal, several feet tantalizingly out of reach, guarded by nano-second reflex automated blasters, and tagged with a price several times more than the the net worth of the PCs and all their current equipment.

Now imagine, immediately after he got a hold of the "gun", ran straight into a bank and tried to hold it up! It would certainly be funny to see his face when he tries to fire a warning shot at the ceiling... and the reactions on the faces of the staffs in the bank..........
Check the Darwin AWards and Bozo Criminals websites...the best is the guy who holds up a gunshop, with several police officers(their plainly-marked cruiser was parked at the door) and several well-armed customers inside....the sap was outnumbered, outflanked, and outgunned...
Or the two carjackers who carjacked a van in Florida...turned out the van was transporting a martial arts competition team and their instructors...who promptly rolled the two dipsticks into human pretzels and procceeded to press them into the pavement...
THose guys were nearly as lucky as the two who stole a van....an UNMARKED POLICE VAN WITH SURVEILLANCE TEAM STILL IN REAR...
And from Brazil, we have the dumbbar who held up a bus, robbed the passengers, then got off at a crowded town square, planning to disappear into the crowd...problem is, the crowd was there to celebrate 4,000 NEWLY GRADUATED AND AWARDED POLICE OFFICERS.
The police commisioner supposedly couldn't leave the podium fast enough to get the guy cuffed...
Proof that reality will always be stranger than fiction...
Though rubber rune swords do tighten the gap...

That is one of those mysteries that is up to the GM. As far as I knoww there is no canon data on it's location. It could always be a pocket dimension.

So far we've only see eyes up to fifty gallon drum size being harvested(or at least made available for sale)...plus perhaps a few larger ones on vehicles...nothing larger than, say a car,...IF we postulate a fully planet-sized organism, losing objects of this size, even a lot of them, would be no more substantial than a person losing a few skin cells every time we move...and the planet may not use the Eyes as primary sensory organs(or they may be vestigal organs)....plus, the Splugorth may have some magical or chemical means of 'numbing' harvest zones(possibly making the loss look like a natural disaster of some sort), then promoting regrowth in the effected area...
Whether the Eylor harvest operation is monopolized by a single Splugorth or managed by a whole consortium of them, they probably are taking very good care of their investment so as not to slay(or rouse) their golden goose.

Wait! I thought those eyes were have golden irises?
I stand corrected...maybe blue eyes are a rare mutation(and thus become more valuable) or signify the effects of overharvesting(defective eye-buds)?

Then we could have the Splugorth deliberately trying to manipulate conditions to produce selected mutations in a step up from just slash-and-dash harvesting(into farming), which raises the threshold for an Awakening event....

Makes sense....there's little else up there that could be considered a delicacy in the long winter months...

Remeber it would be a cultural thing. So they have a right to their cultural identity. Even though we wouldn't eat that same thing if we were betting on it.

Really? Why is that? Forgive my impertience. I would like to know. That is if you aren't being sarcastic.

Not at all...there's something to be said for a varied diet...as long as it doesn't try talking back or emoting in visible fashion...
I mean, scorpion is like a mini-lobster....
And who was the ancient long-ago genuis who decided eating posionous pufferfish (fugu) might be a delicacy?
How many intrepid test-diners wiped out and committed their names to the Great Seating Book before they got THAT one right?

Face it, as interesting and exciting as reading about the 'Right Stuff' pilots who strapped on an X-plane and went screaming into the wild blue, the history of FOOD has many more moments of gripping intensity(unrecorded), moments of discovery, and just plain absurd and inexplicable leaps of logic and intuition(care to explain blue cheese?).
The great kitchens and open hearths of the world are places of such discovery to put the Manhatten Project to shame....(since you can't EAT an atomic bomb).

Very interesting. Poor carp. Haven't they heard of catch and release? Just kidding! Every place has it's food that can be traced back thru it's history.

I was just thinking that that could be a very cruel method of torture in the less civilized areas of the 3Gs. Boiling those life forms with an exoskeleton.

I don't. I'm not really a seafood eater. I love land animals. But yeah people do cook those things that way. Pretty nasty. My ex girlfriend loves lobster and other seafoods cooked that way.
But back to my concept..... It'd be a pretty mean way to execute someone of that sort of race.

Yah, but if you're using microwave weaponry against an exoskeletal opponent, it's an unexpected benefit of victory...

Actually, in one of the Rifters in an article on Megadamage Cooking, one of the main staples of the COalition Mess-Sarge OCC is Chicken-Fried Xiticix...tastes just like chicken! So they've twigged onto how to feed their exterminators as they crunch and munch across Xiticix territory....
NOw all we need is a Coalition quartermaster named Colonel Sanders....
