Um...just have a 'Worshipper of Night' screw up a mirror walk, land in Rifts earth setting, find another mirror, add water

and -BAM- you have hounds

Yeah I would agree with this. If I had thought of it I probably would have made a sperate table from the Nightland Minions. Live and learn.

Well also remember, they're good supernatural trackers AND take half damage from all nonmagical attacks.

So i'd personally rank them above most any demon weaker than a Maggot but still not beyond the realm of reason.

Yeah but since the canon Rifts Earth setting doesn't have its own Mirrorlands (and darn well shouldn't unless you're doing a crossover campaign, since it's supposed to be unique to the Nightbane setting), that ain't exactly a spell that folks on Rifts Earth are gonna know about or think of developing. If you're just throwing in Hounds and suchlike because you want more kinds of random critters in a game, your best bet is probably to treat Hounds and other Nightlands denizens as if they're no different from the denizens of any other evil demon-filled dimension and use a variation on whatever the hell spells all the Shifters and Summoners are using to summon other demonic servants with.

Well they are evil and very demonic looking. Their world would be identified as some alternate plane of existence with Demons inhabiting the land.

my char discovered that spraying them in the 'eyes' with oven cleaner .. only gets them annoyed enough to knock you thru the nearest wall ...

well .. thats what one char found out.

another found out that if you attack them in a strange manner .. a warcry and brandinshing only a knife gives you a small HF of 8 ... its funny when they fail ... really funny. guess the story of the Pat is spreading ... =p

I remember creating an infamous nightlord called Lord Montgoth Byrns, his favourite phrase was 'release the hounds'

And his right hand man a night prince was called Smitheros.
