There is Cannon stuff in the Rifters, but it is an article by article determination.

There are some NB features in the NBSG that started out in one of the Rifters.
Dead Reign was a Rifter article to start.

basically all Rifter material is non-canon unless it also appears in a worldbook/sourcebook/mainbook.

No.
The stuff in the rifters are 'Optional" unless the article itself says that it's canon.

If you note in my last post I answered two questions 1) "is there canon stuff in the rifters?" Yes, there are, and 2) "does anything in the rifters ever make it into canon books?" Yes, some do.

One version of the Rifter Index over at Nexus Nine is this Index of Official Material. In case you are wondering what articles, up through Rifter #44 are official.

Yes, I know I need to get off my lazy duff and update it to current...

Glad you like it. There are also indexes by Issue, by Subject, by Author and an Adventure Index. See the link in my Sig to the lead page of the index.

I really do need to update it to current though. One would think, since my article was in #45, that would have at least updated that by now. Sheesh, what a lazy bum* I am.

*Or it could be that I have 4 kids... :P

You did an excellent job, Rogue Shadow. Over the years I have kept a similar list of my own, and except for the layout, our data is nearly identical.

I believe you missed one or more things, perhaps.

For example, the April 2003 edition of Rifter # 22, page 17 has Mage Armor by Kevin Siembieda.

I don't have time to completely compare your list to mine, but as I said, they are so much alike. Still though, perhaps I will just switch to your list in the future if I should ever get too lazy to keep updating my own.

Thanks for sharing with us,

Hi Jeffrey W.

Glad that you like the index and I appreciate the input.

On the Mage Armor I went back and forth about whether to call it Official Material or not. Normally I consider anything written by Kevin to automatically be official material, but when I read the Mage Armor I looked at the fact that the original concepts came from Brian Manning, and the Rifter itself said nothing about whether the Mage Armor should be considered Official or not. I erred on the side of not Official under those circumstances.

That doesn't mean it is locked that way though of course, the index is made for everyone to use as a resource, so if those that use it think it should be changed, I can add it to official material easily

What does everyone think? Should the Mage Armor that was conceptualized by Brian Manning and got the final write up by Kevin Siembieda be considered Offiicial Material?
