If you give this armor a deep dive capability, yeah...the life support can be jiggered to supply the wearer with a helium-breather mix(that's why deep divers get the classic 'Donald' voice; the helium partially freezes their vocal cords).
Give it a water-proofed jetpack too that allows for dives into the water, and flippers on the boots that snap out for improved swimming capabilities.
AS for Cinos's idea of 'ducklings'? Make them versions of the Spider Probe from Rifts: Chaos Earth, only they're buoyant, and painted yellow and brown, and can be stored on a special rack on the back between the folding wings for the jetpack(just like a grebe carries its chicks on its back). Since they're softball-sized, you could maybe get six of them docked on your back without any problems. For extra nastiness, arm them with a self-destruct fusion grenade.

Re: duck armor
Maybe a line of duck armors.
The Decoy Duck, with holographic systems that make it seem to be in two places at once.
The Ugly Duckling, which looks weaker than it is until it reveals its hidden weaponry.
The Duck Call, with its impressive communications package.
The Duck Hunter, which is a run-and-gunner's dream, especially with its revolutionary scatter-style railgun. (Less damage, higher accuracy... as in it's likely it's going to hit *something*)
And the Duck and Cover, with its protective force-field dome, proof against Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical hazards (has a 20 foot radius, immobile and it's two-way protection... you have to lower it to shoot out)

Backpack wings fan out to form a feather dome(reinforced by the forcefield?) for extra coverage?

Re: duck armor
base model-duck armor looks like a tug boat with a huminoid torso with a ducks head on top & webbed feet on the legs that dangle underneeth
items in armor-loudspeaker to give a LOUD sonic quack that causes-3d12 s.d.c damage or if cranked up all the way up volume-wise 1 mdc the tug boat part of the armor give the wearer a 98% chance of floating in all types of weather & the webed feet allow the wearer to move at a speed of 3d6+4
the bases model also has mines shaped sorta-like ducklings on it's back that are activated by mental command of the wearer & also explode after 3d12 rounds or at the wearers mental command!
Also limited flight by way of jump rockets good for 125 small "JUMPS" of 1 mile or less.
acids & other dangerous liquids have a 59% chance of not effecting the wearer in the slightest.
variants have ALL the bases models items in addition to there own devices.
ugly duck model has a UGLY paint job & a illusion generator in it that makes them look weaker than they are.
duck & cover model has a force field generator good for 5d12 mdc per day.

That's your job...Your idea, which you're presumably using in a game. The rest of us simply tossed in ideas, but you're the ultimate assembler and primary contractor, making the tough decisions.

This is still your baby..don't make it an orphan. Do it up right(and do right by it), and you might find playmates for it.

I MIGHT do artwork for it; the idea's just crazy enough that I can see images already in my head, and if I have the time between everything else I'm doing, I might just do it up and post it, but I'm not looking to take over the entire project. The concept is funny as hell(I'd love to know what gaming scenario you had in mind for it), you got some good input from everybody on it for ideas to supplement what I presume you already had in mind, and I was interested to see what you would finally do with the ideas to flesh out the whole thing as a playable entity(and maybe what fluff you'd toss in to justify it). I know that if you could, you would do your own art, if you want(ed) to, but as long as you complete your project. Otherwise, the original idea gets abandoned, lost in the cold, and eaten by coyotes.

...original idea gets used for something else...
...is lost on 'Things to do lists'...
...used by coyotes and wolves to attack defenseless duck farming ponds and nest towns...
Worst we find out the Duck armor is not what was designed quacked up to be.
I hate it when my mind wonders,
Because I have no idea what it will bring back with it.

taalismn says -- Abtex...Unofficial archival mole for the fictional arms industry again with the sites that make you blink...
