Savage rifts cyborg question
Do Savage rifts borgs need to get the upgrade perk every time they get a new implant? If yes why have prices for the implants? If no why have that edge?

No, they don't. They can just pay the money and recovery time to get an implant up to the limit of their Strain. The Upgrade Edge lets you get any implant you want with no monetary cost or recovery time. It basically represents calling in a favor to get a new piece of cyberware, or stealing one, or doing experimental surgery on yourself during your downtime--basically, any story-driven reason why you could pick up some new cyberware instead of having to pay credits for it.

Bear in mind Strain, though... I haven't run the numbers, but a lot of cyborgs are probably already up there on Strain.

Yeah. A Combat Cyborg starts with 6 Strain just free-floating because he starts with the Upgradable Edge, then he can take Beyond the Limit for 6 more.
