Dinosaur S.D.C.
I'm running a game involving the Transdimentional TMNT source book and i want to use some dinosaurs from Dinosaur Swamp. The problem is that the Dinosaur Swamp book only has Mega Damage dinosaurs, unlike Adventures in Dinosaur Swamp. How do i go about determining the H.P., A.R., and S.D.C. of the Dinosaurs?

Re: Dinosaur S.D.C.
You may get better guidance on how to create stats for AtB in the AtB forum.
in particular, I'd ask Rathorc Lemenger for suggestions. if anyone has already created the creatures you want, that's who it'd be, and if nobody has, that's who I'd ask for help.

Re: Dinosaur S.D.C.
Unfortunately there is not an easy to implement conversion factor and some judgement calls.
See Rifts Conversion Book 1revised pg31 (IINM this is also C&P in a few other titles). The MDC will convert to some % as HP and some % as SDC with a possible loss. AR is a bit harder. These are basic rules of thumb as KS put it.
Alternatively you could look for a similar creature (ex. T-Rex in New West and Allosaurus in DS or the Pantheras in the same book) that have MDC and SDC stats and use that as a guide point to convert the other.

Re: Dinosaur S.D.C.
SDC......MDC x100=HP & SDC combined. (60-40 ratio split is my guess)
AR....unless it has a boney plate like a triceratops or like the one like a armadillo with a ball on it's tail, there is no AR.
OtToMH: There are some Dino ATB formats in one of the Rifters. (there is the Rifter Index...)

Use Rifts CB1 as a guide.
They have a section on converting MDC critters into SDC if you want to run an SDC game.

i'd use a straight 1 to 1 MDC to SDC, otherwise you end up with dinosaurs that are as durable as naval warships. since many of the larger dinosaurs have hundreds of MDC.
the WB14 stats for the T-rex give it 1d4x100+400 mdc.. and then it goes on to say that it has 200+4D6x10 HP, 1D4x100 SDC, and AR 12 in SDC settings.
the tritops is similar (1d4x100+200 mdc vs 100+3D6x10 HP 4D6x10 SDC AR13)
the tigerclaw raptor (6d6+34 MDC vs 4D6+20 HP, 3D6+12 SDC AR 9)
and the Duckbill Honker (1D6x100+200 MDC vs 1d4x100 HP, 1D4x100 SDC, AR 17)
so while it isn't a strict conversion rate, the 1 to 1 ratio is a good rule of thumb.

I think WB4 Africa has at least a few SDC dinosaurs and RMB had a few too, if memory tricks me not (and it might).

If the scaling of the SDC amounts for warships is incorrect then they should be changed.

I understand that the scaling of the (large) Dino DC in rifts is to make them a challenge....
but....
if they are equal in scale-'Chalange' to navel ships are suppose to be, then leave them the same. Cause like with Elephants, you can shoot into them all day with pop-gun 9mm or 30-30 rounds and not do significant damage.
