it's for the the after the bomb world.
basically, before the crash, a company engineered a bunch of creatures that were basically dinosaurs. not a jurrassic park "cloned from DNA in amber" method, but literally designing the creatures from the genome up to look and behave as close to the understood nature of dinosaurs as possible. originally, they were looking into using thme as "cattle" to feed people, but the engineered plantlife they created to feed the dinosaurs proved more cost effective for that. so they built a really big zoo in cuba, dubbed "mesozoic land". they essentually converted a large area of it into a series of giant terrariums, each holding a population of dinosaura. it ended up being the thing that got cuba back on its feet after a major disaster.

when the crash occured, the humans on the island died, and the dinosaurs got loose. they mutated from the plague just like everything else, and eventually created several societies on the island.

the article presents the animal templates for the different types of dinosaurs on the island, as well as details on the major societies that have developed. there is also a bit about a lycopod forest with a particular interesting secret, and the Empire of Humanity base at Guatanimo bay.
