What's your dream team?

Unread post by Anthar »

What adventuring group would make the best all around dream team. Just to round things out say you have a 10 person, 10th level team, list their OCCs, race and "reasonable" equipment that would make them great.

DING DING, round 1 FIGHT!

This is more of a globe/dimension hopping group:

1. Kildred Shifter-- A rare good aligned that has 10 followers due to his racial power. These are mainly low level followers that help out with the support of the groups activities. He has a Drake familiar, a Valkyrie greater familiar, and as his retainers due to his Shifter influence a Ramen RCC and six Gurgoyles piloting Gargoyle Empire Robot armors.

2. Japanese Cyborg-- Has been upgraded to have a separate nuclear power plant that operated his weapons and Naruni heavy robot force field(320 MDC). Amoung various weapon upgrades, he wields a South American ATL-7 Anti-tank Laser hooked up to his power supply and his original heavy rail gun from Japan that is holstered with two tentacle limbs that hold the weapons when not in use and act as the energy weapon link. To top it off for a little added mobility, he has a built in jet pack.

3.Amaki Lord Magus--Powerful spell caster her meditations and rituals of the Lord magus have converted this mage into a powerful megadamage creature with over 2,000 MDC.

4.Jeridu High Magus--Magical engineer capable of constructing magical constructs this High Magus pilots a Techno wizard modified X-2700 Dragonwing. His combat skills allow him to make 20 attacks per melee in his Dragonwing.

5.Seerman Mystic Bio-Freak--Powerful mutant from another dimension, this human like being stands over eight feet tall and is a walking mountain of muscle. He has the powers of invulnerability, supernatural strength, EX Physical prowess and Multitasking as well as his Mystic abilities.

6.Sea-Titan Psi-Tech--This is the team's engineering qenius. She Pilots a rare Nema "Big Dog" Super Mastiff that she modified. It is equiped with Naruni Virtual Drone tech which allows her to control and direct her own squad of robots in battle.

7.Demigod Cyber Doc--This god offspring has healing psychic abilities which help augment his skills but he also has an array of mutant abilities which include sonic speed, adhesion, ex physical prowess and vibration.

8.--Nuhr Dwarf Rune Smith--This Dwarf has extensive experience in battle and in crafting magical weapons. His engineering skills help out the group who have assembled a combat engineering team.

9.Dwarven Guildmaster Technosmithy--Techno-wizard engineering is the specialty of this dwarf. Originally from the Three Galaxies, he brings advanced technological and techno-wizard skills to the group. As well as his modified Dragon Fang Interceptor.

10.Great Horned Dragon Hatchling--Just because I love them cute baby dragons. :D

The group travels in a Big Bertha super cargo carrier with an attached hover cab that has been modified like heck by the combined engineering and Techo-wizard skills of the group. Through Techno-wizardry it now runs silent and can turn invisible and become impervious to energy, all powered by a small PPE generator. It now has no loss of speed due to contragravity generators and is now heavily armed and armored. It is their mobile base where they eat, sleep, heal, repair and supply their efforts. They also have teleportation circles in the vehicle that allow them to teleport people and supplies to and from safe locations throughout North America.

Part of the reason I would take a "Summoner" & a Shifter as well as the Maxi-Man is because of thier ability to use Tech based range weapons . As well as thier ability to all 3 either summon or create thier own minions/monsters and thus in effect be themselves a "Force Multiplier" .

The Shifter's summoned minions are not counted as part of the team . As in a pinch the Occ can call up a minion at any time .
The same can be said of both the Max-Man & the Summoner . Thier both "force" multiplier's , due to thier "Occ" ability to call up thier "Force's" by either tat's or thier Occ abilities.

Another thing you can abuse or use is that a Shifter could load up on high costing monster tattoos and use his minions P.P.E. to active them. A Shifter can easily get over a thousand P.P.E. this way by 7th level and even thou it cost mages double activation cost having a few extra monsters in play is always a good thing. One thing that I keep forgetting is when a tattoo monster dies the caster takes damage.

It should tell you if you can take a OCC or if you have to use what's there. Example. WB 30: Vintex Warrior is one that you have to use, but the Ronan Piper has the option to use the Piper RCC or pick certain OCC's.

PS- sorry for any bad spelling

Thats kewl I might have to pick up South America 2 now heh , I at this moment do not have that book and its seemingly more powerful then the South America Book 1 , so now I have to have it as well haha .

Thank you my friend.

Does the Amaki Stoneman as an Rcc , have the ability to change up and be a caster type Occ ?

Anthar wrote: Jeridu-- PF Land of the Damned 1 has 6 attack per melee bonus and the other attacks come from the robot combat elite in the Dragonwing.

This must be the GM character ?

This would be a GREAT combo 2 thumbs up.

Or is this partly GM grp and partly PC grp ?

First, yes the Amaki can take a spell casting OCC. Second, Jeridu is not GM character and third, I'm not quite sure what your asking but all the characters are technically legal with no special NPC rules fudging.

Now their nemisis would be as follows(Which happens to also be the "GM character"):

Japanese Godling RCC--This Godling has his abilities concentrated in the mystical arts. Mainly Mystic Knight, Shifter and Harvester. His minions include 15 souless Xombies, that body making insect baddy from Nightbane as a familiar(Brain blocked and can't remember the name), a Succubus as a greater familiar, a Tauton as a servant from his god patron, Red Flame Demon Lord, Soul Tracker Demon, two Gargoyle Demons and six Brodkil. Through absorbing souls and certain shifter spells the godling has increased his strength to over 100 PS, PPE to over 200,000 and his MDC to over 15,000.(The little fudge is that the HPs gained from Soul Harvesting is added as MDC since SDC bonuses are added as MDC to the Godling RCC)

Thanks to the soul Harvesting he has knowledge and use of virtually any magic available. All this thanks to the unwitting cooperation of the player group. Early in their carreer this godling requested their help to "bring powerful evil beings to justice" explaining that due to an ancient crime he regretably commited, he has been charged to bring those beings back to a godly court for trial. The team captured each beiing and the godling carried each away to "the court" and harvested each soul in a pocket dimension. The team eventually figured out what had been going on, but by then the godling was too powerful and also prepared for the eventuality.

South America 2 is my favorite book and one of the most use books in our campaign. So much incredible stuff from psychic mutant to diabolical aliens, dragon nation, cat nation and a nation with giant robot turtle APC 70 feet tall & robot mastodons with mirrors that can induce epileptic seizures. It the craziest place on Rifts Earth with every nation hates each other just for existing.

If I was to build my own personal team of 7 godlings it would be...

1# Shifter, Fire & Earth Warlock, psi
2# Shifter, Water & Air Elemental, psi
3# Shifter, Temporal Wizard, psi
4# Shifter, Necromancer, psi
5# Shifter, Summoner, psi
6# Shifter, Techno-Wizard, psi
7# Shifter, Techno-Wizard, psi
Just to round out the ten three Norse Giant Shifters!

Not the most diverse group but could build a gigantic army in a short period of time.
I'm think each one summon a Mindolar, the Mind Slug to get their nation of the ground with some well placed bites. Godling are immune to their bite that with help keep their empire together. Just to ensure none of the Mindolars get free and take their minions with them we will have TW collars for each Mindolar and each super powerful minion with both Luck Curse spell and Deathword spell built in with a radio transmitter on each Godling, if the Luck Curse sticks its almost an automatic kill with Deathword. Ain't slavery fun.
I will be 125 living in Rio de Janeiro when the Great Cataclysm comes, I will not survive long but I will be cloned threw the Achilles project and my clones will be Achilles Neo-Humans that will start a new Jedi order in Psyscape. So You May Strike Me Down & I Will Become More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine. Let the Clone Wars begin!

The reason I asked this prior is because of the Jeridu being trapped in the Chaos lands , meaning not even 1 member of thier race is anywhere else BUT .. in the Palladium worlds Land of the Damned.

Which would beg several questions .
1) - How did the Jeridu escape finally ?

2) - How did the Jeridu get the Dragonwin ?

3) - How did the Jeridu get the training to pilot the Dragonwing , aka how did the Jeridu an archaic race , learn the Elite RPA set of skills ? Considering that the NGR does not allow D-Bee's in its military ?

Hence the reason I simply thought it was a GM toon.

Shifters do not get Zanji Shin H2H.

Unless this is a GM NPC perhaps? Even then not many beings in the whole megaverse have 200,000 PPE that I've seen.

Godling RCC can choose any hand to hand skill. And the Soul Harvesting ability gives the Harvester the full PPE of the unfortunate soul, at two souls per level and targeting beings with anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 PPE each the PPE can really add up.

Also the Jeridu are not stuck in the Land of the Damned, a small percentage of their population has left.

Greatest Demons in Hades = 900PPE x30 (harvested at lvl 15) = 27,000 Total PPE. Doubled threw the Zanji Shin H2H = 54,000 PPE total.

Greatest Deevils in Dyval = 600ppe per deevil x 30 harvests at lvl 15 = 18,000 PPE doubled threw Zanji Shin H2H = 36,000 PPE total.

Thee only beings I know with 10,000 PPE .. are the type of beings that it would take an army of lvl 10-15 classes to take down .. and thats to kill it , thats not counting the whole troubling aspect of "Capturing" it and being able to keep it subdued long enough to perform the ritual that is required to "Harvest" the soul of the being.

It would be dang near impossible to do this to just even the weakest of either Hades demons or even Dyvilian deevils.
But at least them beings you can "Summon" and some what controle prior to the ritual.

Thats just how I see it , and again I very well could be 100% wrong .

You must have a very limited number of books then. For instance, Dragons can have PPE that number into the thousands, as well as the Lizard Mages, Naga, Gods, etc.

DriveThruRPG offers downloadable PDFs of many of Palladium Books' titles for a somewhat reasonable price. ;)

Like I said the only being's with that sort of PPE , would mop the floor with even a squad lvl 15 Harvester's even with all 15 of his soulless Zombies per Harvester in tow ..

According to Dragons an Gods Great Horned Dragon PPE= 1430 Max lvl 1 and its not getting close to 10k PPE not even a 15th lvl Great Horned Dragon would. At most a lvl 15 Great Horned dragon = 1550.

Yes there are "Exeption's" out there that prove this rule. But by and large you do not have many beings in the megaverse with 10k PPE.

And the ones that ARE running around with 10K P.P.E. are easily going to either destroy all or half of the Harvester's and their zombies or simply take out a couple , then simply teleport away come back take a few more out.

*edit*

By Naga's do you mean the Naga's on pg 141 of Pantheons of the Megaverse? If you do I just do not see with them having a starting amount of PPE 10 - 40 at max how they could have 10k+ ppe on average.

To get 100,000 PPE a Harvester would need to keep an average PPE drain per soul at 3,333. This is very plausable and if you read anything in the original post about the harvester , you would have seen that he used his brain and tricked a powerful group of adventurers to do help him out.

Do you have some sort of grudge that your trying to work out on the boards, or do you like bogging down threads just for kicks.

As a matter of fact in an entire Tri-City area of Tolkeen only 1 single being had 2,000 P.P.E. and that is with a City of Dragons in that same area.

Only the Dragon King Tannhueser had 2k P.P.E. in all of the three cities combined.

All these 10k PPE beings are incredibly few and far between.

Forgot to say that the Naga is from China 1: The Yama Kings, they can have 9,000 PPE at level 10. Beings with loads of PPE are no as uncommon as you seem to think, especially if some one is looking for them.

Dude give it a rest.

Harvester's are not even good spell casters. Like I said it would take a veritable Army of lvl 10+ characters to take out even 1 being with 10k PPE , that goes with out saying for beings with even 3k+ PPE.

Nope sorry if asking questions on how the specific's of the PPE Formula is bogging down threads .. I apologize. I am a very very big stats type of guy and as such I love to know the exact formula's of certain things.

It seems in your games 3k+ - 10k+ PPE beings are a dime a dozen. When looking at the printed NPCs in various books as a good indicatore of what type of breakdown in those lvl of beings we see we get .. nearly zero. As I stated previously in all of the Tolkeen Tri-City area .. only a single being had 2k PPE, 1 being . And that is with a City of dragons of adult - ancient dragons.

Having said that. I stand by my opinion that in Rifts earth, any beings with 3,3k+ PPE would be dang near impossible to "capture" and "Keep" docile enough to perform the Ritual needed to harvest thier soul. The only beings I know of right now in Rifts with that much PPE. Gods & A.I.'s .

I am not trying to bog down the thread , but lets be realistic in Rifts earth beings with 3.3k+ PPE are not a dime a dozen.

So fine, you win, your the king of the dorks. Congratulations. I'll just make my life easier by ignoring your future post and restrict my answers to those who ask valid questions and don't rub people the wrong way.

Nice, the only point of contention is the Cosmo Knight, who would have to be fallen to learn magic and then the High Magus must be a SDC creature which the Fallen Cosmo Knight is not. But hey if there was a good story behind it then why not.

Magic and Demons and Giants, Oh my!

Caution these rules are unclear and may be open to gross interpretation and out right misinterpretation. GM discression is strongly advised.

I got thinking it over and instead of just one Mindolar I'll give each 2 Mindolars instead and that means each Shifter can control up to 400 minions through the Mindolars controlling bites alone. Thats up to 4000+ minions for my squad! Even if all the minions were wiped out we could start over the next day. Our secret plan to enslave powerful creatures like dragons, demons, gargoyles, angels and such, is for a few of us to cast Luck Curse on the summon creature so they have no bonuses what so ever and can be easily taken over by the Mindolar's bite.
