When writing magic based stuff, remember that magic fits into basically all of the Palladium settings, so including the conversions is important.
Don't just write it for Rifts, write it for M.D.C. and S.D.C. settings, from PFRPG to Phaseworld to Heroes Unlimited.
When I wrote the Blade Mage article, I wrote it with Rifts in mind, but I works equally well for PFRPG and I based the actual misty origins of the blade magic way back in the time of a thousand magics, in the PFRPG world..

So yeah, bottom line.
Be open to all of the settings, not everybody plays Rifts.
