By far and away the best review i have read to date.
I think zombies should be easier to kill, especially if you are going to be faced with dozens or hundreds of them. However i don't agree with the easy access to healing, it is a survival game and should be more or less hopeless. Geting a serious would in real life is a good as being dead excpet you are a burden on your friends until you die and become a zombie... who kills his friends and they become zombies...

Petrified wood just because we could.

I agree, the zombies should be easier to kill, at least with the head shots. Even then it will still be easy to overwhelm the PCs.
I see where they're going with the AR. Aside from the brain, they don't really need any of the other organs. The AR could represent the difficulty of hitting the bones and changing a sloucher to a crawler, but a head shot is a head shot and the zombie should go down.
Its when you have 25+ zombies on your ass and you only have 8 rounds a piece, with more zombies popping out of every building you pass. Even if the GM sets a 15+ to hit the head you'd still be hard pressed to shoot a path and get your butt out of there.

It's also a game that is going to take a lot of work to run seriously, unless you basically want to do one shot pretzel and beer games with the PCs inevitably facing their doom.
On the Therumancer scale I give it 7/10.
I don't see horror being neglected by RPGs. Palladium puts out BTS and Nightbane and the WoD, AFMBE and CoC are big sellers, let alone the dozens of smaller games over the years.
I am confused how DR can still be considered a very good game if you see such troublesome issues in actual playability. Also what do you consider a 5-6/10 RPG and a 8-9/10 RPG?
I am confused why a headshot would be different than any other aimed attack. Are there rules for modifying AR based on the condition of the corpse?
The idea of running a haven with multiple characters per player is an excellent possibility to make a campaign much more playable.
